Problems Encountered and Recommendations <ul><li>Encourage departments to be more consistent regarding expectations and pedagogy </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure departments keep a centralized electronic file of current syllabi readily available </li></ul><ul><li>Guarantee consistent treatment of cross-listed courses within departments </li></ul><ul><li>Emphasis on departmental consistency in providing the appropriate syllabus template elements. </li></ul>

Quality of Graduate Programs: 2009 Survey of Current Students and Alumni <ul><li>Graduate and Alumni Surveys: Instruments developed and e-mailed at least three times </li></ul><ul><li>Inconclusive data due to low response </li></ul><ul><li>Survey instruments revised and made available on graduate school website </li></ul><ul><li>Conclusions: Further data collection and analysis with assistance from the respective Deans and Chairs </li></ul>

Quality of Graduate Programs: 2005-2009 SIRS Analysis <ul><li>On-line survey submitted to current and alumni via email addresses </li></ul><ul><li>Inconclusive data due to low response </li></ul><ul><li>Survey instruments revised and made available on graduate school website </li></ul><ul><li>Data being currently collected – report will be ready by February 1, 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>Data will be analyzed by colleges against university scores and by departments against university median scores </li></ul><ul><li>Conclusion: Preliminary analysis of relevant SIRS data seems to indicate compliance </li></ul>
