Introduction to Science Test Review • Metric system and conversion factors • Common SI units and definitions • The way scientists calculate averages of data sets involve using mean, median, and mode and know the definition of the terms • Basic graphing information (DRY MIX) • Lab safety • Quantitative vs. Qualitative observations • Observing vs. Inferring • Predicting • Writing a good hypothesis • Controls vs. Variables • Independent vs. Dependent Variables • Be able to convert using staircase method • Be able to identify correctly written hypotheses • Know and be familiar with the steps in the scientific method • Know which variable gets graphed on each axis • Know how to recognize and draw a best fit line • Difference between mass and weight
    2. • Common units of measure (mass, density, volume, length, area, perimeter, etc…) • Measurement tools (balance, ruler, thermometer, formulas, etc…) • How to convert temperature with a given formula *make sure you refer to the blog page to study all of the information we have covered since the first day of school!
