    • Literary Device: Personification Is it human? Can a flower feel sad? Can dogs talk? Can leaves dance?
    • Personification
      • Giving human qualities to an idea, object, or animal.
    • Percy Examples:
      • “ Some of the kids were whispering: ‘Did you see—’ ‘—the water—’ ‘— like it grabbed her —’ I didn’t know what they were talking about. All I knew was that I was in trouble again.” (Ch1 p.10)
