      • Number of worldwide mobile phone users will increase from 1.3 billion to 2 billion by 2008 (Nokia)
      • Global mobile ringtone sales increased 40 percent in the past year to $3.5
      • Ringtone sales account for 10 percent of the $32.2 billion w/w music market (CTIA)
      • INTERNET: ¾ of US Households will have internet acces in 2009 up from 64 percent at end of 2003. Number of online users will reach 23l million in 2009 representing 75 percent of the total US population. Nearly l/2 of the online users will access Internet from multiple locations. (Jupiter Research).
      • Videogame:Total US video game hardware, software and peripherals were 10 billion
      • Movie box office receipts were $9.3 billion for 2003 (SJ Mercury News)
    3. More Mobile Stats
      • Camera phones will account for more than 80 percent of the total handsets shipped in US and Western Europe by 2006 (Gartner)
      • Nokia grabbed the top spot in the camera phone market– with 14 percent of sales. 84 million camera phones shipped last year –nearly 66 million than in 2002.
      • Mobile entertainment revenues are forecast to grow to $25.l billion worldwide by 2007 (Arc Group).Games will grow by 60 percent by 2007
      • Mobile video is forecast to reach $4.34 billion by 2007.
      • Mobile music is anticipated to keep growing until 2008 when it reaches saturtion.
      • Mobile music revenues estimated to $4.7 billion in 2007.

      • Hottest ‘wireless widget’ at CTIA was HIPTOP –developed by Danger– communicator features Internet, email, organizer, digital camera, gaming, shopping etc. Tmobile markets in US as “Sidekick”.
      • ClearSky Mobile Media is placing mobile media kiosks in amusement parks, malls etc to download ringtones, MP3, Java Games, print phone pictures, pay bills, mobile coupons and greeting cards.
      • Virgin Megastores– downloadable music content kiosks.
      • DOCOMO Future phones– beyond voice and images– to rest of five senses – sight, touch, smell, taste and even emotions. Sounds that come from different directions – AI
      • Univision TV based mobile content—personalized messages from celebrities
      • Hutchison 3G video mobile space –video mobile live news and entertainment channel – Today on 3 –hour of new footage. No charge for clips but streams start at 45 cents.

      • Textamerica – mobile blogs (video moblogging” Rockband XFYA –video cllips using Nokia 3650 phone.
      • Third wheel – Textamerica – behind scenes on movie.
      • Hotel Soap opera –reality show on mobile phones.
