Sikkeland, J.R. Walton, y Glenn T.)Nobelium is a synthetic element with the symbol No and atomicnumber 102. Little is known about the element but limited chemicalexperiments have shown that it forms a stable divalent ion in solution aswell as the predicted trivalent ion that is associated with its presence asone of the actinides. Further work in 1961 on the attempted synthesisof element 103, produced evidence for a Z=102 alpha activity.
