Reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases helps to mitigate the impacts of global warming and climate change.
Manufacturers emit greenhouse gases directly through their operations and indirectly through the use of fossil fuels.
Only 2% of the energy produced in the United States comes from emission-free, renewable energy sources.
Neenah Paper is committed to directly reducing our greenhouse gas emissions!

What is Chain of Custody Certification (COC)? COC is a way of tracking paper throughout its life cycle, from the forest to the point of sale. COC is chain of ownership ! For an organization to use the FSC logo on their materials, each part of the chain must be FSC COC certified! What does FSC Certification address? • Social issues: worker safety, training, and communication and conflict resolution with stakeholders. • Environmental issues: aquatic areas, high conservation forests, and threatened and endangered species. • Systems issues: management plans, monitoring, chain of custody and inventory.
No one! The logo was developed by Gary Anderson in 1970, a 23-year-old art student who created the logo for an environmental contest sponsored by the Container Corp of America, now part of Stone-Smurfit Corporation.

The chasing-arrows logo is unprotected. Anyone can use it!
The industry ‘standard’ for using the logo signifies that a minimum of 30% post consumer waste has been used in the making of un-coated papers.
An early design of the recycling symbol, sketched on a letter to Gary’s mother.
