  • Structure of the film industry; each role explainedStudios; studios are designed to finance and produce television. They do not distribute television, theyfinance the shows are sell them to networks.Production Company; a production company has exactly the same role as a studio, but they are notowned by a network. Most production companies working with television are successful directors,producers etc.Producer; a film producer creates the conditions to make movies, and is involved in all aspects of filmmaking, they supervise and initiate everything.Executive Producer; the highest paid position in film making, in control over budgets, locations andvarious part of the production, including post and pre production.Production Manager – looks after the physical parts of the production, such as technology, scheduling,budget and staff. Works under the supervision of a line producer and supervises production coordinator.Director; responsible for supervising all artistic/ creative areas of the production, this also includesmanaging actors, lighting and other effects.First Assistant Director; assists the production manager and director, their main job is to make sure thefilm keeps to schedule and everyone is doing their jobs correctly.Location Manager; finalizes decisions on locations and other financial requirements surrounding thisareaLocation Scout – researches, photographs and investigates possible locations.
