Semester/Year Action Check Fall of Junior Year Express interest in eScience program to your advisor at your home college February of Junior Year Submit an application (Syracuse University graduate application packet) End of Junior Year Wait for the outcome of your application Summer prior to Senior Year*** Start the eScience Fast Track program with conditional admission pending completion of undergraduate program Summer prior to Senior Year*** Take your first Graduate course at iSchool (IST 601, IST 621) Fall of Senior Year Take IST 614 at the iSchool Spring of Senior Year Take IST 687 at the iSchool Spring of Senior Year Prove your Credits of Advanced Standing in recognition of previous course work – 3 credits Summer after Senior Year Participate in Maymester program and take (how many courses) Fall of Graduate year Submit this form for confirmation and matriculation *** Note that this is the standard format for starting the program but in case a student is unable to start the program during the summer before senior year, it is still possible to join the program later depending on his/her academic standing. For more information: Dr. Jian Qin,Program Director Email: jqin@syr.edu Office: 311 Hinds Hall Phone: (315) 443-5642 Enrolling in graduate level courses prior to the receipt of an undergraduate degree: Students must receive permission from the graduate academic advisor, Jose Tavarez, to enroll in a graduate course while still an undergraduate student. The course will fall under their under- graduate transcript until he/she has graduated and the credits will then be transferred to his/her graduate transcript. If these courses are used to meet any requirements for the undergradu- ate degree then they CANNOT be transferred to the graduate transcript and applied to the graduate degree. NOTE: These courses should NOT be used to meet requirements for an undergraduate degree. Loans from government agencies intended for undergraduate education should not be used to fund these courses
