  • •Joe Tacopina, founder of the law offices of Tacopina Seigel & Turano, P.C., in New York, has won widespread praise for his courtroom skills and ability to provide an aggressive and cogent criminal defense for clients. Since the 1990s, Tacopina has successfully represented police officers, celebrities, athletes, musicians and other public figures in a series of well-publicized cases. As a legal expert who appears frequently on national news broadcasts, Joe Tacopina is no stranger to media attention. He even surfaces in a novel by best-selling author James Patterson.
  • •Patterson’s 2012 detective thriller Private #1 Suspect focuses on former Marine Jack Morgan and his investigative firm. Jack and his team have earned an enviable reputation for their no-holds-barred approach to uncovering the truth, which they do quickly, discreetly, and using the finest high-technology equipment available.
  • •However, in Patterson’s universe, nothing stays calm for long. Jack quickly finds himself the center of a murder case after an old girlfriend turns up dead in his bed. He ends up simultaneously dealing with a crime syndicate that wants him to recover millions of dollars in stolen pharmaceutical products, a lovely hotel manager who asks him to investigate a series of murders in her workplace, and a colleague who wants to leave the firm, all while trying to defend himself as the evidence mounts against him. At one point, it is suggested that he hire Tacopina.
