This is no easy task, especially in my line of work, but with Him on my side, all things are possible.

If I was given a chance to be able to pursue Culinary Arts, I will not let the opportunity pass.Brewed coffee has been a part ofmy life. I started drinking this atthe age of 8. It has been a part ofour family’s way of life. Coffee timefor us means bonding time.
  17. 17. The 7300-day journey all starts by...The Current Basics• My Personal Mission / Vision• The Various Roles I Play in Life• Source of InspirationJoseph circa 201120yrs after• Servant LeaderThe Daily Dose to Success
  18. 18. My parents, my inspiration • Besides God, my parents are my primary source of inspiration. The drive to excel in life yet remain humble, not materialistic, and Christ-centered has been instilled in me & my sister. I love my family!
  19. 19. 1 Tim 6:10• “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” – Material & earthly things are temporary. Greed leads to evil deeds. Despite not being born wealthy, I was never raised to be attached to material possessions. This is merely temporal and can not be brought to the after-life.
  20. 20. The Golden Rule• “Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.” – I first heard this from my mom when I was about 5yrs old and has been stuck in my mind since then. I was raised in a highly conservative & religious family. Despite temptations being so accessible, I have always believed that there is good karma and bad karma. I always do my best to be on the good side. Being on the other side would just bring me harm.
  21. 21. St. Benedict• “Ora et Labora.” (Prayer & Work) – When I entered San Beda Alabang in High School, I learned about St Benedict and his motto. This is very similar to the Filipino quote “Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa.” Prayer is not enough without action or work. It has to be a combination of both. This is as simple as I can not ask God for me to win the lottery if I do not bet in lotto. I do my part, and God will make a way.
  22. 22. Mohandas Gandhi• “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” – May 24, 2011: I had a surfing accident in Baler, Aurora. I was confined the following day at Asian Hospital for a week. Initial diagnosis was Cauda Equina Syndrome, which is the paralysis from waist-down. It becomes irreversible if not surgically operated within a particular time frame. With God’s healing power, I did not go through surgery and had therapy instead. Losing sensation and not being able to do normal things for a period of time, made me realize how lucky I am to be normal. I’d rather be normal and not rich, than being rich yet paralyzed. Not being able to fully experience the wonders of God’s creation is too much to miss out. I thank God for keeping me healthy.
  23. 23. Confucious• “A superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions.” – I am a man of action, rather than words. That is why I dislike politicians who is just all talk and no action. I do what needs to be done, and not just talk about it. Similar to this quote is also “Walk your talk.”
  24. 24. MOo--GROVE-- JOSEPH-rut RALES (rails) (Poison) iVY Groovy Joseph Morales, CEO of Unilab Joseph Gabriel Morales June 2011

  26. 26. The Story Behind...I was lost in a GROVE And got trapped in the poison iVY Good thing I got a “JOSEPH-rut” gum. So I took one.
  27. 27. ...the groovyness..I heard a cow say Moo-- I followed where the sound originated, which led me to the rails. Eventually I was able to return home alive.
  28. 28. ...and success...Unilab learned that I survived. They said they realize I was soimportant, they did not want tolose me to competition that iswhy I was the first in Unilabhistory to be promoted frommedical representative to CEO.

  31. 31. Austin Powers – Groovy Baby!• Movie protagonist Austin Powers gave life to 60s-70s slang colloquialism “Groovy.” In modern era, it can be used to describe “cool”, “fashionable”, “amazing.”
  32. 32. Austin Powers – Groovy Baby!• Even in times of conflict, and even near death, Austin Powers kept his “groove.” He eventually always succeeds over the conflict. The 2 Austin Power Jaguars or “Shaguars” – The old from 20 yrs ago to the new/present. He needed to adopt to changes around him. Definitely, the new me should be better than the previous.
