  • Joe you created another great Slide Share about social media networking and libraries. I looked for a few of the applications you mentioned, however it looks like I will have to wait until the applications are available in Cincinnati and also until some of the applications are available for regular pc’s or androids. I hope the landscape doesn’t change while I’m waiting!

  • Even a rusted book has meaning. A tattered cover. A heavy hard cover. A touched and torn novel: like this copy of Les Mis which I couldn't bear to leave at home and not finish. And I could not bear to lug around. The book is not ripped, the story has just the same impact.

  • Techs with wide content impact are generally those that thrive at the confluence of trend areas
  • Watching the landscape. A sea of paths.
  • If a tech area meets the following criteria andsurvives to guide content directions then it is of note. Does a particular Is it also a tool of firm technology area application to have revolutionary libraries? impact and an ability to affect the ecosystem of libraries?
  • Every tech direction with impact on expectation is agateway
  • Tech areasFlipboard meets these criteria. - Can be looked to for directions in content tech.Pinterest meets these criteria. Pinterest fosters self curation and visual organization along with collaborative facilitation.Instagram meets these.Aereo meet these.The iPad mini meets these.Last weeks news of Facebook Home meets these.Wearable tech meets these: smart watches.Google Glass meets these.

  • We are still going uphill. And yet it is all downhill from here. (And remember - it is harder to park on a hill - keep driving).
