    • UVM GUADALAJARA NORTH CAMPUSUVM Guadalajara NorteEnglish AcademiaSpring 20115TH SEMESTERS English Advanced I “Academic Writing Skills”Required texts and materials:E-mail addressAccess to Academic writing Skills I PlatformFace book AccountCourse Purpose:This English course will focus on reviewing grammar structures in order to improve the quality of writingand reading structured on the UVM mission and vision, visiting the University´s values throughout thecourse.Course Objective:Students will be able to write a four paragraph essay through various interactive and collaborativeprojects ON LINE.Absence policies:Class starts promptly at the time published on the class schedule. There will be 5 minutes of tolerance.If any student is not in the classroom 5 minutes after the class had started, he or she will have anabsence for the day. Student will NOT be permitted to stay in the classroom. There will not be anyabscesses excused. There are NO Late marks.Grading:There WILL NOT be any LATE WORK. If student is not present on the day of the quiz or exam he or sheWILL NOT be able to take it another time, unless authorized by coordination. Each student MUST LIKE this SOCIAL contract in FACEBOOK 2. NO food in the classroom. NO exceptions. 3. NO Hats in the class room. NO exceptions. 4. Electronic communication and entertainment devises such as, cell phones, radios (Nextel radios), laptops, Ipods, etc., WILL NOT be allowed in the class room in the schedule stated above. 4.1 Any student who does not abide to this rule WILL STEP OUT of the classroom and will not be able to participate in that class. ACTIONS: ST 1 OFFENSE- Rule reminder. VERBAL WARNING. nd 2 OFFENSE- Student WILL STEP OUT of the classroom. 5. If any student DOES NOT abide RULE 2-4, and is asked to leave the classroom 4 times because of the USE of ELECTRONIC devises, EATING in class or WEARING a hat, the teacher, Josadac Flores Pérez will be able to file for that student´s suspension in the class. 6. There ARE NOT any JUSTIFIERS under any circumstance, Chapter II Student´s General Rules (Capitulo II del Reglamento Gral. De alumnos) 7. Attendance WILL NOT BE GRADED. 8. ATTANDANCE will be called everyday at the beginning of class. 9. ORDER in the classroom, RESPECT between classmates, APPROPRIATE language in the classroom. DO NOT interrupt class. 10. NO late work. NO exceptions. 11. Due date extension Will BE granted by Josadac Flores Pérez´s discretion. ONLY to students who: Have 85% of their total attendance 12. Attendance: There will be a 10 minute tolerance. If a student does not arrive by 7:10. He or she will NOT be able to take part of class for that day. 13. PLAGIRZED ESSAYS will be NOT be graded. Giving the student and automatic 0 in his or her paper. DO NOT copy or paste other people´s essays. ENGLISH ACADEMIA
