What is Contextual Targeting?
Contextual Targeting places pay per click ads on web sites related to what you sell. By targeting your ads to relevant content, you may reach a more qualified audience. Your ads are matched to content using your existing pay per click ads and keywords. Contextual advertising is targeted to the specific individual visiting a website (or page within a website). The advertisements may be displayed on the webpage or as pop-up ads. What are Sponsored Results?
Sponsored Results are ads that relate to the search query or context on a given page. Results may be different depending on how the Web publisher decides to display them on their site. What is the difference between Contextual Targeting and sponsored search?

How does Smart Match targeting work?
Smart Match is our most precise targeting option. Using Smart Match, your ad will be displayed for queries that match your keyword exactly or are a small variation on your keyword. These variations include plurals, common misspellings, shared "root" words, and different word orders, but does not include synonyms.
How does Broad Match work?
Broad Match offers advertisers a broader targeting option than Smart Match. Keywords marked "Broad" will match for a wider range of queries, making it easier to drive more traffic to your site. To help avoid unqualified leads, our Negative matching feature can be used to prevent specific queries from returning ads that are set to "Broad" matching.
What's the difference between Smart Match and Broad Match?
Smart Match is more precise, and Broad matching has more reach. Let's say you purchase the keyword "Exhibition Stands." If you set it to Smart Match, your listing will return for "Exhibition Stands", "stands for exhibitions" and "stands exhibition." If you choose Broad matching, your listing will be returned for "I need a stand for an exhibition" and "all-inclusive Exhibition Stands", "designers of exhibition stands" and any other query that contains those terms. Negative matching is available for Broad matching.
What are Negative keywords?
To help avoid unqualified leads to your Broad matched ads, our Negative matching feature can be used to prevent specific queries from returning ads. This helps prevent ads from coming up for irrelevant searches and avoids unwanted clicks. For example, if you bid on the keyword "tires" but don't sell tractor tires, it is a good idea to add the negatively-matched keyword "tractor."

How does it work?
Display ads are delivered to category leading publisher Web sites on a bidded CPM basis.
Step One: Choose the topic categories and ad unit sizes that are relevant to your products and services. Each category can have more than one ad unit size.

Advertiser Dashboard
Dashboard - The Dashboard is the hub of Bid4Keywords. You can view important information and perform important tasks on this page, and you can quickly jump to key areas within Bid4Keywords from several points on this page. You can get to the Dashboard from any page in Bid4Keywords by clicking on the company logo in the upper left hand corner of every page or by clicking on the "Ads" menu link.

Advertiser Dashboard - Details
Alerts - Alerts indicate actions you should take and give you direct links to do so. Alerts can be related to your account, campaign or ads. You can hide or show your alerts on the Dashboard. Account Summary - This table shows you important summary information about the performance of the campaign(s) within your account. Within this table, you can do many things: View the same data for a certain time period; elect to show your OFF campaigns in the table; edit all campaigns or create a new campaign; or go directly to the "Manage Ads" page to view the ads and targeting within that campaign by clicking on the campaign name link.

Creating a New Campaign in an Existing Account
To create a new campaign, click on the "Create Campaign" link under the "Ads" menu. After entering your new campaign name, daily budget and Max CPC, click "Submit". After creating a new campaign, we recommend updating your refill amount. Your refill amount must be at least three times the sum of your campaign daily budgets. For more information about refill amounts, see the "Manage Account Details" portion of this Tutorial.

View and Manage Your Account Information
The "Manage Campaigns" page allows you to view data for a selected period of time for all OFF and ON campaigns. You can also use this view to edit all of your campaigns' Max CPCs and daily budgets.

Ads and How do Keywords Relate to them
An ad consists of a title, a description and a URL. You can have one or more ads associated with a campaign.
Keywords are separate entities and must be associated with an ad in order to get distribution. You can have one or more keywords associated with an ad.

Creating New Ads in Existing Campaigns
You can create a new ad in an existing campaign by selecting the "Create Ad" option under the "Ads" menu. Simply enter a title, description, display URL and destination URL for your new ad.
Your title can be up to 65 characters long and should capture the attention of qualified leads.
Your description can have a maximum of 190 characters. It should complement your title and provide additional information about your products and services.
The display URL should link to the page on your site that most directly relates to your ad and can also serve as your destination URL.
Optional: We recommend using a destination URL to track your ad's performance. This is the display URL plus your tracking codes. This URL is not visible in your ad.
Select the Adult Content checkbox if your site has content that shouldn't be viewed by minors. Read our Editorial Guidelines for an explanation of what constitutes adult content.

Adding Keywords to a New or Existing Ad
To add keywords to a new or existing ad, enter the keywords you wish to target into the Smart or Broad match keyword boxes. You can also add Negative keywords to your ad to further refine your targeting.
Smart match targets keywords exactly, along with slight variations.
Broad match reaches a broader audience, targeting all queries that contain your keyword.
Negative keywords prevent your Broad matched keywords from coming up for specific queries

Checking Pricing and Getting Suggestions to Improve Your Targeting
You can access keyword pricing and get suggestions on new keywords with the Targeting Optimizer tool.
The Targeting Optimizer is two tools in one: First, it allows you to view maximum cost-per-clicks (Max CPC) per position and estimated cost for each targeting element in your ad, and it enables you to optimize each targeting element to obtain a desired position. Second, you can use this tool to generate keyword suggestions.

Finding More Keywords to Target Your Ad
The Targeting Optimizer also functions as a keyword suggestion tool, helping you find additional, relevant keywords.
The "Suggest" button in the Targeting Optimizer tool will retrieve up to 20 related keywords. To accept suggestions, click the "OK" button next to each suggestion.

Move, Copy, & Editing the Status of your Ad
The "Ads" view from the "Manage Ads" page gives a quick view of ads in a given campaign. You can view your ad status, clicks and cost history here.
From this page, you can move, copy and edit your ad. You can also turn an ad ON or OFF or add keywords and optimize all targeting components. To do any of these things, first select the desired ad(s) by clicking on the checkboxes to the left of the ad(s).

Editing the Details of Your Ad
On the "Manage Ads" page, the "Edit" button on the ad view lets you change the title, description and URL for your ads. Simply select the checkbox of one or more ads and click the "Edit" button.

The "Targeting" view from the "Manage Ads" page gives a quick view of all targeting in a given campaign. You can view your targeting status, match type, Max CPC, clicks and cost history. From this page you can move, copy, edit and turn a keyword OFF or ON. You can also optimize and add targeting to individual ads with the "Add Targeting" link.

Edit the Details of Your Keywords and All Targeting Components
On the "Manage Ads" page, the "Edit" button on the Targeting view lets you change the match type (i.e. Broad, Smart, Negative) and Max CPC of each keyword or targeting option. Setting Your Daily Campaign Budget
Setting an appropriate campaign daily budget and account refill amount ensures an uninterrupted flow of traffic to your ads. To determine your daily budget, add up the daily cost for the ads in your campaign (you can view the daily cost in the Targeting Optimizer). This is a good indicator of the traffic you can expect, but we encourage you to give yourself a "buffer zone" to get traffic throughout heavy traffic days.

Adjusting the Account Refill Amount
Your account refill amount is the amount you are charged when you first create an account and when your account balance gets low. Your refill amount will not impact traffic to your ads; rather, it determines when you are billed and must be at least three times the sum of your campaign daily budgets. We advise that you set your refill amount to about 30 times your daily budgets so you are billed at approximately monthly intervals. This will ensure that you are not charged too frequently.

What information is in my Reports?
Data for your accounts, campaigns and ads can be viewed for whatever active time periods you select. You may choose to view them in your Web browser or to download them as a CSV (Comma separated value) file to easily view in a spreadsheet program like Excel.
What are Quick Reports?
Quick Reports are reports with pre-selected date ranges for easy access to your data. If you need different date ranges, you can go to the Reports menu and select Custom Reports.
How do I create my own Report?
Custom Reports allow you to choose your own date ranges and viewing options. Use the Custom Reports link under the Reports menu to select account, campaign, date range, viewing options and format (Download to CSV file or Web Browser).

How do I view my Report?
You can view your reports in your Web browser, as an HTML page or download the file as a CSV file to easily view in Excel or another spreadsheet program.
What is View by options?
View by Date groups to see your data by day

Why do I see more columns in my spreadsheet download?
For certain keyword reports, there are too many columns to be easily viewed in a Web page. For that reason, those columns are only available by downloading the report as a CSV file.
What types of Reports are available?
Click Basic - Updated hourly with data that is from one hour ago. This report contains click and cost data.
Impression Details - Updated hourly with data that is from three hours ago. This report contains impression, CTR, click and cost data.
Conversion Events - Update daily with data from the previous day. This report contains conversion, click and cost data.

Main Reports: View Summary Information on the Campaigns in Your Account
Summary of Accounts - View a summary of key information for your account and the accounts with which you are associated.
Snapshot Graph - This snapshot provides a graphical view of the cost performance of all campaigns within your account for a selected time period. Use the drop-down to change time periods.

Main Reports: Get the Information You Need to Manage and Optimize Your Ads and Campaigns Effectively
Report Type - Choose whether you would like to see report data by account, by campaign or by keyword. Each gives you further lower-level information than the former.
Data Selection - Depending on the report type you choose, you will then need to select which account(s) or campaign(s) you would like to pull data for. Use your control (Ctrl) button to make multiple selections.
Date Range - You may either select a pre-defined range from the Date Range drop-down menu; or you may define your own range.
View By - This selection determines how the data will be grouped when it is presented to you.
Output - You may elect to export your report into a CSV (comma-separated value) format, which can then be saved as an Excel file; or you may choose to view it right here within the AdCenter (HTML).

What does my Billing History include?
The Billing History section displays all charges made to your credit card, including your initial charge and account balance refills. If you are an invoice customer, contact your account representative for billing information.
How do I change my billing information?
If you pay by credit card, you can change your credit card information on the Manage Account page under the Accounts menu. If you are an invoice customer, contact your account representative for billing information.
Why was I billed more than once this month?
You will be charged whenever your account balance falls below the minimum balance threshold, which is equal to three times your daily budget across all your campaigns. The refill amount you previously selected will be charged unless you have turned OFF all of your ads. In order to be charged less frequently, increase your refill amount.
To do this, go to the Refill Amount dropdown on the Manage Account page.
