Important thing to remember: I was not designing a Drupal brand. I was doing a logo for a version of Drupal, that would be relevant for 2-4 years until 9 would be introduced. Not reinventing or changing the Drupal word mark / brand.

I wanted the D8 logo to extend the Drupal wordmark designed by Mark Boulton

I prepared several concepts and created mood boards for them, elaborating on how the Drupal community could creatively use my proposed concepts to continue building the Drupal 8 experience, creating logo derivates, etc. It was to be emotional and express what we as a community think about Drupal 8

  • Concept 1 Communicates a bright, modern, dynamic and forward looking ”superpower”. Most powerful CMS, leader of tomorrow.
  • Concept 2 Extends and builds on the Drupal wordmark. Conservative, serious, enterprise oriented. Multichannel, web platform, building tools, sufficient.
  • Concept 3 Fun to work with, pleasant user experience, happy clients, flexible, interconnected, extendable, modular. Kick ass with Drupal 8;)
  • Concept 4 Oriented and based on Drupal and its community, emotional. Druplicon & tkoleary should be credited as an inspiration
