  4. 4. Finding Putty<br />Start up your browser (you can use any browser on your pc or mac)<br />Go to http://www.google.com<br />Search for “Download Putty”<br />

Search Results<br />Click on the first link returned by Google<br />PuTTY Download Page<br />So if you want to browse PuTTY's revision history, you could download that, unpack it, and point a local Subversion client at it. Downloading Putty to Your Desktop<br />Scroll down on the current web page until you see.<br />For Windows on Intel x86PuTTY:putty.exe<br />Right Click on the Link “putty.exe”<br />And choose, “Save Link As” to save putty.exe to your desktop. <br />*** There is no installation required for Putty, you just save the .exe to your desktop.<br />
  7. 7. Using Putty<br />Double Click on Putty.exe on your desktop<br />The following dialog will be displayed.<br />

Connecting to a Remote Server<br />To connect to a remote server, type in the IP Address in the “Host Name” Dialog box and then click on “Open”<br />If you successfully completed the connection, a black window should open with a prompt that says “login as:”. You can enter your username and password.<br />
