These incentives, announced on March 22, 2007, are designed to encourage and
kick-start early investment into Iskandar Malaysia focusing on the targeted

» Iskandar region business They are:
incentives
» Revenue Stream a. Corporate tax exemption for 10 years
» The reasoning b. Exemption from FIC ruling
c. Allowed to source capital globally
d. Allowed to employ foreign workers without restrictions
How to qualify for ISP in Iskandar Malaysia?
In order to qualify for the above incentives, the company must be an IRDA-status
company. There are two general criteria to fulfill in order to qualify as an
IRDA-status company, namely:
1. Must be involved one of the following six activities:
i. Creative industries
ii. Educational services
iii. Financial advisory and consulting services
iv. Healthcare services
v. Logistics services
vi. Tourism related activities
2. Be situated in the designated IRDA-approved zones

Question:
Equipping a Motorsport University is going to be expensive.
How many students are you going to have on campus?
» Is a Motorsport University wanted?
» Iskandar region business Answer:
incentives
There will be two campuses
» Revenue Stream
» The reasoning 1. Physical (Johor +1)
2. Virtual (anywhere broadband can be accessed)
This quote is taken from the Star Newspaper Saturday March 28th 2009
Globally, Limkokwing University now has 25,000 students from 144 countries.
“I hope that within 10 years, we will reach one million students. You can’t have
one million on campus but you can have one million students if you have a lot of
them doing online courses,” he adds.( Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing)
I feel that one million students using the physical + virtual model is
achievable.
Open University Malaysia quotes MYR 4000-5000 per year for online undergrad
courses.
One million times four thousand = MYR Four billion
One million times five thousand = MYR Five billion

Why a Motorsport University?
INTEL INSIDE is a common term on computers.
It tells us that when we buy that computer it has an “INTEL CHIP” inside.
Motorsports depends on knowledge, cutting edge technology.
» Is a Motorsport University wanted?
“KNOWLEDGE” is the “INTEL CHIP” of the motorsport industry.
» Iskandar region business
incentives As the industry grows so does the need for “KNOWLEDGE”

Why a Motorsport University in Johor?
Singapore is in the process of building a new FIA approved circuit to compliment
its arrival as an F1 venue.
This will attract teams and their support industries to the area.
In business this is a win-win. It is a sustainable business model.
A Motorsport University based on an FIA approved circuit perfectly compliments
Singapore’s current investment in the region.
Unlike joint projects envisaged between Malaysia and Singapore there are no
political implications.
Singapore is responsible for their circuit based beside Changi airport.
Malaysia is responsible for the Motorsport University in Johor.

Two campuses are better than one.
In order to achieve the one million online students I feel that two campuses are
needed.
One could argue that virtual learning takes place with one physical campus.
Agreed.
» Petronas co sponsors
Shanghai F1 I feel that having a physical campus in Shanghai will give the student population
» Political and investor quotations there a sense of ownership.
Asean has a population of 570 million whilst China has 1.3 billion. (approx)
The Malaysian GLC's particularly Petronas and Proton already have a presence in
China.
Petronas co-sponsors the Shanghai grand prix. So it already has a close
working relationship with the circuit!
Malaysia and China appear to be keen to enhance trade and educational links.
This project is a perfect fit for their joint vision.
