  • 1. Peoples and Empires

  • 2. The Roman Empire was one of the greatest world powers. Their influence over the land spread thousands of miles.
  • 3. These are the ruins of a 6th century Agora marketplace in Greece. The Romans used the Greek economy and infrastructure as a basis for their advanced economy.
  • 4. This is a drawing of the Santa Maria, one of the ships used by Columbus.
  • 5. The Bubonic Plague was spread to other parts of the world through trading from the ships that traveled to these places.
  • 6. The ancestors of modern people may have been much like the Saan of southern /Africa. They are an example of hunters and gatherers whose traditions have remained much intact.
