Important for the presenter to note is that with the two mentioned care ranges, GOLDWELL offers both back-bar and retails products aligned to specific client services and needs.
  • What is Haircolor In reality, there is no such thing as temporary, semi or permanent haircolor. Longevity of haircolor depends on the porosity of the hair. All color fades – only lift and deposit is a permanent solution!
  • Remember, although these are categorized, it is our job as a stylist to recommend the proper product based on hair texture, density, and POROSITY! This will determine the longevity.
  • Make sure to take one step further and discuss other names these colors are given outside the “Color Wheel” Example – “Orange Yellow - Copper” – “Rust” more towards the red side of orange etc. Paint chip samples from Home Depot can be used
  • Do Playdoh exercise: Mix yellow and red to make orange Mix yellow and blue to make blue Mix blue and red to make violet Compare color with your neighbor and evaluate if it is warmer or cooler (color is what you compare it to) Make the most natural brown you can and compare
  • Acidic and basic are two extremes that describe a chemical property chemicals. Mixing acids and bases can cancel out or neutralize their extreme effects. A substance that is neither acidic nor basic is neutral. The pH scale is logarithmic and as a result, each whole pH value below 7 is ten times more acidic than the next higher value. For example, pH 4 is ten times more acidic than pH 5 and 100 times (10 times 10) more acidic than pH 6. The same holds true for pH values above 7, each of which is ten times more alkaline (another way to say basic) than the next lower whole value. For example, pH 10 is ten times more alkaline than pH 9 and 100 times (10 times 10) more alkaline than pH 8. To create an understanding of the benefits and limitations between acid and alkaline hair color. Emphasize the benefits of using the proper product selection If hair is too healthy, sometimes it is beneficial to use Topchic with a lower volume or Colorance Mild-Alkaline Product choice should be made by stylist and not the client (think of the marketing terms we spoke about; permanent, semi, demi, etc.) Review Goldwell brand categories & how this applies Exercises: (Optional) Have breakout groups pH test several household and professional products (both alkaline and acidic) using litmus paper
  • Acid & Alkaline Hair colors: Review differences between acid and alkaline products and the importance of choosing the proper product for your client
  • Make sure customers know what is available for tools Point out that the shades have been grouped differently than in the past Don’t assume they all how to utilize all the tools to their fullest Have all dispensing tools and demo them. Don’t assume they know Tools will be upgraded in the fall, don’t mention them but did not want to include them in presentation
  • Intensifiers Can and should be used to brighten fashion shades and promote longevity They are level specific except for VV which can still be used for advante garde results
  • Drabbers Make sure to emphasize that the drabbers are level specific and they should be careful if they deviate beyond the recommedations
  • Every shade in the Goldwell Color System is described by a combination of numbers and letters This system facilitates the fast and correct identification of the base color as well as the selection of the target color. The number indicates the level of depth, e.g. “Very Light Blonde” in the case of 9KG. The letters indicate the color character of the shade – KG, for example stands for “Copper Gold”. The first letter indicates the main color character and the second letter the complementing direction.
  • System Color Remover Skin Goldwell System Color Remover Skin is a dermatological tested lotion that safely and gently removes unwanted color residue on the forehead, neck, ears and hands after coloring. Standard Application: 1. Apply to a cotton ball pad . 2. Gently massage on the stained area until color residue has been removed. 3. Briefly wipe with water.
  • Colorance Demi-Permanent Color Intensive, long lasting color with a superb shine, even on difficult hair structures  Brilliant: Intensive color results with ultra-shine guarantee Reliable: Superior Technology for long lasting color even on difficult hair structures Expressive: New Max Red shades for ultra intensive reds Optimum Performance: New NN shades to effectively cover up to 75 % grey Creative: New Mix shades to enhance creativity and facilitate color correction Versatile: Attractive service options for maximum client satisfaction
  • Colorance Developer Lotions: - Colorance Developer Lotion (2%) For use with acid balanced shades - Colorance Intensive Developer Lotion (4%) For use with NN, Max Red and Mix shades or when combining these shades with acid balanced shades
  • Hair Analysis The natural hair color of clients which are having colored hair can be seen only at the re-growth The exact definition of the base is also important for eventual needed pre-treatments Show how to fan the strand into the natural hair (crown or back of head) to determine the natural level
  • Hair Analysis - Determination of the Target color Hair analysis is an important part of a hairdresser's daily routine prior to a color treatment The Natural base shade, existing shade, percentage of white and hair structure are factors that influence the final color result In order to achieve the desired target result, the product choice and color formula need to be adapted to take into consideration these important factors
  • Quite often, clients are rather vague when it comes to determining the color change they want Your professional knowledge and experience will help you and your client to find the most suitable target color, refer to the results of the hair analysis and your knowledge about personalized color consultation Depending on the existing level of depth, there are 4 possibilities of changing the base color: darker tone in tone more vibrant (more red) less vibrant (less red, more ashy/matt) The existing level of depth in mid-lengths and ends serves as your reference for the new shade, ask client which of the 4 choices they would prefer Depending on the base color and the desire of the client, take 4 to 5 swatches from the Color Tableau, spread them, and hold them close to the regrowth, so that the client can see them in the mirror
  • This visual is very good at showing the difference lift can make in vibrancy It shows that Deposit Only haircolor integrates with current shade
  • Colorance Mixing Gently squeeze the applicator bottle in order to produce low pressure when shaking – this avoids possible color splashes. Cover the opening of the nozzle or brush with a finger. Shake thoroughly. This optimally mixes the color mass and delivers the creamy consistency which is needed for applying. Always mix Colorance formula in the applicator bottle even if you wish to use the traditional brush and bowl method to apply the color. Always dispense the Colorance Lotion BEFORE adding the Colorance shades to ensure optimum accuracy of the measuring system.
  • Brush Application Always mix Colorance in the Colorance Applicator bottle – even if you wish to use the traditional brush and bowl method to apply the color. Shaking will ensure that the color mass is perfectly blended and that it achieves the creamy consistency necessary for the color application Applicator bottle with brush or nozzle: the brush offers the advantage that you can better work the Colorance mass into the hair. The Nozzle offers quick and easy application. With Color Perming use only the nozzle in order not to overstretch freshly permed hair. Apply Colorance Acid Shade to the shampooed, towel dryed hair Apply Formulations with Grey NN, RedMax and Mix Shades onto dry hair
  • Color Code: Every shade in the GOLDWELL Color System is described by a combination of numbers and letters The number indicates the level of depth. The letters indicate the color character of the shade
  • When only Colorance Acid Shades are used in a formulation the Colorance Developer Lotion (2%) has to be used
  • Hair becomes more porous because of the alkalize and oxidative burden, tips are getting darker, losing brilliance, are getting overloaded Therefore the additional oxidative damage in long term is responsible for less durability The regrowth could come out lighter and more transparent Color Balancing with Colorance Demi-Permanent Haircolor helps to avoid this effect . Colorance should be applied during the processing time of regrowth-coloration on dry length and tips After processing time emulsify permanent and semi-permanent color with water and rinse Benefit: Long lasting color results because of less alkaline damage of hair structure in midlength and ends
  • Color Perming During perming, colored hair often looses its vibrancy – in such cases, color perming is the ideal solution to refresh or change the existing color without causing further damage to the hair Colorance offers the opportunity to color and curl within the one service As the hair structure is open the color pigments can penetrate deep into the hair for a durable color result Always use the nozzle attachment instead of the brush for color perming to ensure that the hair is not stretched unnecessarily
  • Colorance Shine & Care Colorance Demi-Permanent Haircolor Clear can be mixed with all other shades of Colorance colors Depending on the mixing ratio, the chosen shade will be softened and the color intensity will be reduced .
  • Toning TIP: 10V, 10P, 10A, 9NA for clear, cool blondes, 10N, 10B, 9N for natural blondes, 10GK, 9KG, 8G for warm, fashion blondes On dark hair any of the fashion shades can be used for this service Depending on the base shade, the fashion shade may influence the color result on the rest of the hair Will elaborate in toning section
  • Colorance Lowlights Acid Technology Colorance Lowlights combines the tried and tested Acid Technology with the new IPP- System Integrated-Pre-Pigmentation) – for natural, long lasting results with supreme shine. Integrated Pre-Pigmentation System
  • Technology Traditionally prior to beginning the lowlighting service on overlightened hair a pre-pigmentation is required Can be a time-consuming process it can be un-predictable and may not last as expected
  • Formulation: Always mix Colorance Lowlights shades with special Lowlights Developer Lotion and apply mixture on dry hair The creamy consistency of Colorance Lowlights is perfectly suited for brush and bowl application
  • During the oxidation process free radicals are formed which compromise the hair structure The innovative Coenzyme-Technology protects the hair during the coloration Damaging free radicals will be neutralized, therefore, the hair structure is protected sustainable and the coloration process is not compromised This means, less damage, improves hair structure, extraordinary brilliance and intensity Less compromised hair structure leads to a better durability of the color ONLY PRESENT IN MILD-ALKALINE SHADES
  • Mixing recommendation: The NN Shades can be used when the grey coverage of the Colorance N shades (50%) is not high enough Replace the N Shade with an NN shade on the corresponding level in order to achieve better grey coverage (up to 75%). Mix the N or NN Shades with the desired Fashion Shades according to percentage of grey N Shades will give a more natural coverage, while the NN Shades provide a more solid coverage The NN Shades can be used for lower % of grey hair as well if a more solid grey coverage is the target e.g. for coarse hair In formulation with Grey NN Shades always use Intensive Developer Lotion 4% Please note that a coverage up to 75 % is achievable only with Colorance NN Shades For formulations containing Red Max, Grey NN and Mix Shades always use Intensive Developer Lotion 4%
  • (  6) NN shades to choose from high performance technology specifically adjusted to cover up to 75% white hair natural, durable grey coverage mild alkaline pH Max Red and NN Shades can be used as single Shades or can be intermixed with all Colorance Acid or mild alkaline Shades within the Colorance portfolio When intermixing these shades with Colorance Acid or other Colorance Shades the Intensive Developer Lotion (4%) has to be used Processing time: 15-30 Min. (w/o heat) Heat shortens the processing time of about 20% e.g. 5 min from 25 min
  • Key Ingredients / Technology Direct dyes and oxidative dyes provide vibrancy along with DURABILITY
  • The different and various processing times depending on certain services. Processing times differ from desired shade intensity, hair quality and desired color result. * The longer the processing time; the higher the shade intensity The more porous the hair structure; the more intense the color result Toning after a powder decolorizer needs a much shorter processing time compared to toning of natural hair as the cuticle of bleached hair is open and the dyes can penetrate easier and deeper into the hair Formulations with RedMax, Grey NN or mix Shades have longer processing times to allow the color to create an intense color result. The dyes can penetrate deep into the hair in order to achieve an intense and durable color result. The usage of additional heat sources reduces the overall processing time by 5 minutes . The temperature of the heat source should not exceed 35 0 C to 40 0 C (95°F to 104°F). When u sing a hood-dryer cover with plastic cap.
  • Topchic Topchic Permanent Haircolor that combines powerful optimum grey coverage shades with superior conditioning, shine and a pleasant fragrance. Key Benefits: Coenzyme Technology Color Equalizer System TRAP - 2,5,6-Triamino-4 Pyrimidinol Sulfate
  • Patented Coenzyme Technology: During the oxidation process, free radicals are formed which compromise the hair structure. Free radicals exist from molecules that have become detached for a variety of reasons, which include environmental and chemical effects. The molecules become negatively charged from damage. The negative molecules begin searching for a positive molecule which to attach. In the process they destroy other molecules, which creates an unbalance. The innovative Coenzyme Technology protects the hair during coloration. While the hair is in the processing state, the Coenzymes attach to the excess negative free radicals, neutralizing the effect and re-balancing the hair structure. So the damaging free radicals are neutralized and the hair structure is protected. The coloration process is not compromised. This means less damage, improved hair structure and extraordinary brilliance and intensity. A less compromised hair structure provides better durability of the color.
  • Take a swatch from the tableau, fan it and place it at the clients hair Repeat until the correct shade level was determined In case of uncertainty choose the darker strand The exact determination of the base is also important for determining the need of pre-treatments
  • Product Usage: A maximum of 50% or 1/2 of the color formula can be substituted with a concentrate Tips for Concentrates: The concentrates should not be used alone For additional Intensity in fashion shades Additional control in Highlift (P Mix only)
  • Explain how this is like a law of nature; we have to work with it, so we simply control it Basically, either a client wants to be a warm fashion tone; or they don’t If they don’t we typically need to utilize a controlling color in our formula
  • Note you have options at each level to choose for control What determines your choice of color is client priority, hair texture, density, porosity, how many levels of lift you are achieving The various color choices simply give you options to choose for less control or more, depending on your needs
  • Topchic Natural Formulations Review these formulations, but also discuss the option to choose one of the other color choices listed Discuss the difference in the end result choosing a different color Note the 25ml of TC and 15 ml of control color are a basic guideline; this can be altered to achieve more control if desired EX: 25 ml control color and 15 ml TC, or 20 ml control color and 20 ml TC
  • How does it look if you paint a black and white wall blue? The result will be a pattern of light blue/dark blue You should equalize the colors prior to painting blue. The stronger the differences on the wall, the more challenging it is to equalize the colors. This is similar to coloring hair, if gray hair is present, equalizing and the coloring can be reached in one step. The desire of many clients is for an even color result. This means the white hair must be covered because otherwise it would be too vivid Fashion shades have a tendency to cover gray less than natural shades, adding N-shades improves the coverage of fashion shades The greater gray percentage, more N-shade must be added into the formulation
  • Many clients desire the coverage of their grey hair to match the color of their natural hair, achieving an even color result throughout This demand can be met by using the N shades, which can be applied either directly or mixed with other shades In case of resistant or very coarse hair, the N-shade should be replaced by the corresponding NN-shade The higher concentration of pigments and alkalinity in these shades, combined with the relevant color character ensure satisfactory grey coverage, even on coarse and resistant types of hair Adding an N or NN-shade to the fashion color makes it possible to adequately cover white hair and still achieve a fashion color result
  • Resistant Grey: Discuss who the resistant grey client is; and how to identify resistant hair (coarse, wiry texture, unruly fine hair, grey showing through) Be sure your client wants 100% coverage; if the grey is showing through from previous color, find out if they like that “natural look”, or prefer complete coverage Be sure the client is aware the perception of all hairs completely covered may give a slightly darker coloration
  • Identify what a spot or streak is This formulation is for spots, streaks, or isolated areas; should not be applied on entire head
  • After completion of these formulations, do one of these again, but add in a grey streak or spot Walk through formulation showing how to pre-soften the streak or spot first, and then continue with the formulation Remember, to always apply color formulation over spot or streak area first; then proceed with remainder of head
  • Greying clients have: A desire for youthfulness, and expect you to provide the service and expertise that satisfies their needs. A purpose in mind: to cover grey hair, while maintaining or improving their overall appearance. AND: They want to retain their youthfulness with a modern, natural color service, which is lively and shiny.
  • GREY HAIR CLIENTS ARE A DEMANING TARGET GROUP WITH SPECIFIC NEEDS IN GREY COVERAGE Up to 100% grey coverage is still fully required. But requirements have changed in the last years in regard to the hair color: Natural color result, no “helmet” look. Lively dimensional color with fashionable reflects. Not too dark colors which fit to their complexion. Brilliant and shiny hair.
  • While TriFlective Naturals are final shade creations with a defined assortment, N and NN shades can be mixed with the entire assortment for ultimate variety. While TriFlective Naturals provide a very lively and shimmering color result, N and NN shades allow you to achieve also a more solid grey coverage result if desired. TriFlective Naturals do not replace the existing N and NN shades but they are an extension of grey coverage service offer. Depending on the clients wish the most suitable product can be chosen.
  • Already mentioned innovative applicator bottle that mixes and applies our formula . It will be delivered together w/ Developer Concentrate (meaning you order the lotion and receive applicator bottle as well – both are Packaged together) Developer Concentrate (our lotion), 250 ml bottle for 12 applications Folding box with 4 Grey Blending Power Shots ammonia-free , 20 ml each; available in 4 shades: 5CA, 6CA, 7CA and 8CA (CA means cool ash)
  • And the result is self-explanatory !
  • Application on dry hair
  • Interactive Highlift swatchcard for more successful consultations All shades available as cans or tubes Use on or off scalp Use with Blonding cream & Blonding Cream Ash – to achieve lightest results without bleaching certain series Virgin hair only – Tint Does not lift already color treated hair
  • Selecting the Appropriate Topchic Lotion when using with 11 Series 30 Volume (9%) = Suggested for fine-normal textures or when less lift is desired 40 Volume (12%) = suggested for normal to coarse/resistant texture or when maximum degree of lift is desired
  • Shade Recommendations The different degrees of controlling dyestuff, start with the shade containing the highest concentration (as shown). Explain that swatches in book show actual result but of course will vary from client to client
  • Emphasize the type of heat that we recommend
  • Determination of Formulation – 11 Series The different amounts are not due to different recommendations, rather easily mixable ratios . The use of NN is not recommended because the pigment concentration Over 70% white hair does not warrant teh lift that the 11 series provides because there is no pigment to lift through resulting in an undesirable end result when used in that scenario.
  • Use Goldwell color wheel and Goldwell blueprint for formulation when determining appropriate shade.
  • The 12 series will deliver more of a pastel blonde due to the smaller contribution of controlling dyestuff On darker levels the 12 series results in a brighter but warmer blonde because there is less control during lifting process 11 series results in a deeper/darker blonde due to the additional controlling dyestuff resulting in a visually darker end result
  • This slide is ideal to summarize the key features and benefits of the Topchic segment Hiblondes Control
  • Neutralights will offer clients with natural darker base levels espresso, mocha and chocolate tones. Clients with darker natural levels often desire lighter tones but are usually left with either too light (blonde) or too warm (red) end results. So this option will give a controlled end result often with no toning necessary. The processing time I shorter due to the controlled lift – Toning is not required. Clients with existing highlights (often done with bleach) can be balanced on their mid-length & ends w/ Colorance Acid Color.
  • Virgin Hair (no color on hair) Total processing time 30 min 1. Apply to mid-lengths and end first, process 10 min . to 15 min. 2. Apply to scalp area and process for 30 minutes without heat Re-Touch Application 1. Apply formula to new growth area only process option A or B – If necessary balance midlengths & ends with Colorance Acid Color Process 15 minutes (with heat – open air system only) Process 30 minutes (without heat)
  • Use Highlift Swatchcard & color wheel, as visual tool for stylist to understand formulations Communicate that Highlift Swatchcard is a great tool for successful consultation when using on a new client
  • Recap Use Highlift Swatchcard as visual to demonstrate points of difference All are recommended for virgin hair All can be used on or off scalp All are mixed with 30 or 40 volume
  • Up to 4 levels when used alone (10,20,30,or 40 volume developer) Great for use in Colormat for baliage and decolorizing when highlighting or color correction applications Keep in mind that when 50% of formula is BLC or BLC ash deposit &/or control will be compromised because BLC will diffuse concentration of pigments When mixed in 11 series or 2-10 formulas it will assist in achieving desired amount of lift Not designed to be applied to scalp when mixed alone but when mixed in 11 series & 2-10 shades, they offer protection (more controlled pH) to be used on scalp
  • If applying full head/virgin/”full foil” – mixing a smaller ratio could be considered so that product maintains maximum lift & controlling ability
  • Blonding cream ash is recommended when using with – 11V, 11A, 11P & 11N. Maximum lift and control will be provided when used in this fashion.
  • Make sure to mix and pass around especially during launch time period
  • Shield Technology The developer and the serum contain a conditioning Silk Protein Complex Upon mixing the Shield Technology creates a protection shield around the Silk Protein Complex. The Silk Protein Complex stays stable during oxidation and can optimally unfold its conditioning effect. Silk Protein Complex The Silk Protein Complex provides targeted conditioning during lightening exactly where needed It conditions and balances structural differences inside the hair and smoothes the cuticle structure outside the hair
  • The SilkLift serum is the perfect tool to increase service prices: The serums should be used when the clients’ hair needs extra care for stressed or porous conditions – more often than not this will be the case This visible tool helps to demonstrate that you use a product that delivers extra conditioning when aiming to increase your service price The experience of the service itself and the clearly improved end results profile you in the eyes of your clients Add the serum in front of your client To set the stage for your conditioning blonde service And upgrade your service
  • Make sure to stress that 40 vol should never be used with any of Goldwell’s bleaching products 40 vol does not work any faster than 30vol it only creates more damage If they need a more aggressive bleach they should use Oxycur Platin
  • No 40 VOLUME – NO HEAT
  • Point out that they should start with one scoop and developer and then go from there to aleviate waste
  • Corrective Shampoo If less lift is desired or hair is fragile 10 volume Topchic Lotion can be used instead of 20 volume
  • Take this opportunity to discuss toning in depth, the next 2 slides are the only slides that really elaborate on toning Point out that toner choice should never be determined prior to the finish of decolorization Explain the benefits of toning with both products
  • Explain fixing or correcting vs. changing or enhancing Alternative could be seasonal or any change but the steps you take are corrective
  • Most hair color we see in salons (unless it is the same exact formula) is actually considered a form of corrective color but not always viewed that way Hold up swatches that show this: ex. 8B swatch and 10B swatch to show 2 levels lighter 4R swatch vs. 6R to show tinted hair is darker 6B swatch vs. 6RB to show tinted hair is browner
  • Saying no is sometimes hard to say, so during the consultation process, offering other reasonable solutions is recommended Show the swatches for corresponding colors listed (ex. Show the 6R swatch next to the 7KG and compare them to a 9N or 10N) How to check for metallic color: put cold wave perm solution in a cup, put a strand of hair in cup, if the hair moves or dances around, metallic color exists, cold wave solution is a perm the you are not mixing solutions together, it comes ready to use
  • Simplify the realities of corrective color and to equip stylists with insights for the quickest, most accurate results Review what constitutes a corrective color situation and whether it is achievable Give examples (point out that (T) stands for tinted). Use swatches to show dominating base tone Review - Know When to Say No. Explain that knowing what is not achievable is key to corrective color Explain the differences between Corrective and Alternative (alternative color is an existing client changing target color) Give additional examples of recognizing corrective color and let them answer whether decolorization is necessary
  • Elaborate on decolorization and the factors that enter into procedure choice Provide stylists with guidelines and procedure tips for decolorization Explain factors to consider when choosing a decolorization formula or technique Focus on number of tint applications. Stress previously used products affect result (remember direct pigments can be the most difficult to remove Emphasize STRAND TESTS Emphasize importance of working quickly to ensure even results
  • For test strand use a capful of bottle one and of bottle two Ensure stylist is doing the step with colorance lotion or 10 volume to ensure proper removal Will not disturb natural new growth color Will not remove direct dye only oxidative colors
  • Step 5 is key to avoid unnecessary correction later, stress the importance of not skipping this step If hair is not at the level desired after System Color Remover, move to your next strongest decolorizer to obtain proper lightness
  • Blonding Cream should be mixed 2:1 ratio for decolorization When used in a 2:1 ratio do not use on scalp just off scalp applications Can be used with all volume developers Apply to darkest areas first and apply neatly and quickly
  • This decolorizer is best chosen when there is little to no new growth If there is new growth apply carefully Recondition hair after decolorizer to make sure hair is properly neutralized before proceeding with color
  • Emphasize the importance of pre-pigmentation for even and long-lasting results. Explain when it is necessary to fill, and provide guidelines for pigmentation. Explain that filling is really replacing missing undertone Point out that the underlying pigment chart, read backwards, is a filler chart Review - When Pre-pigmentation is Necessary Emphasize pigmentation chart is a guideline (other shades will also work, especially for fashion reds)
  • Pre-Pigmentation Explain the System Pre-Pigmentation Application Chart Allow the audience to become familiar with and understand when to use each shade Explain that by choosing your target color, the chart tells you which shade of Pre-pigmentation to use This allows ease and convenience when doing corrective work…no guesswork! For creativity or for very depleted ends desiring fashion shades, it is possible to intermix the Pre-pigmentation shades
  • Choice of color product is chosen according to: Hair integrity Clients desire for dimension or a solid target color Condition of scalp Exposure of undertone
  • Some customers may not currently use Colorance so stress the benefits of the pH Colorance in some cases can be more durable due to the direct pigments
  • Some customers may only have Topchic so emphasize that gentleness of Topchic vs. competitors color Point 2 regarding no other service should be emphasized, in that removal may be more damaging to the end result
  • Keep doing formulation until the group is comfortable and able to formulate without confusion.
  • After reviewing sample formulations, begin on corrective model. 1. Hair Analysis 2. Process for correcting 3. When using each product or color, review the benefits. 4. Finish reviewing BACKBAR Goldwell Care and Retail maintenance products. 5. 7N or 7NA may be used for a more browner result, 7SB for more controlled result

    83. 83. Blueprint for Formulation STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE EXISTING LEVEL OR LEVELS = XL Use swatches from the Color Tableau or Universal Shade Chart to determine the existing level (s). (It is essential to know the existing level and base shade (s), so a starting point can be determined and if the target color can be achieved in a single or double process) STEP 2: DETERMINE THE TARGET LEVEL = ↕-> Consider: Hair to be lighter, darker or maintain the same level, only adjusting the tone STEP 3: DETERMINE THE TARGET COLOR = TC Consider: Fashion tones with gold or reddish tones or a natural brown tone (choose a desired shade) Topchic Permanent Haircolor
    84. 84. Blueprint for Formulation STEP 4: DETERMINE NATURAL CONTRIBUTING PIGMENT = NCP From the NCP Chart, choose the NCP at target level. Decide whether you want to control or enhance the end result. STEP 5: DETERMINE THE GREY PERCENTAGE = % Use the three categories of grey percentage, also consider whether the client prefers grey coverage or grey blending. When there is grey in the natural hair, the formula must contain a portion of the N-Series for optimum coverage. NOTE: Step 1 & 2 determine the volume of Topchic Lotion needed Step 3, 4 & 5 determine the Topchic Shades needed. Topchic Permanent Haircolor
