    Steps In The Right Direction Towards Personalisation - Presentation Transcript

    1. This project will be co-produced by learning disabled people from Lawnmowers Theatre Company. Using drama and theatre to explore and highlight the Personalisation agenda with learning disabled people in Gateshead. Touring centers and bases, these performances and workshops will give many opportunities for learning disabled participants to plan their futures.

      • Using interactive and creative methods developed at Lawnmowers.

      • Bridging gaps between professionals and learning disabled people.
      • Using a company that has pioneered work around planning social and policy change since 1986.
      • Needs your project meets
      • For learning disabled people to understand this new agenda.
      • For carers to understand how this new agenda will effect their families.
      • For Councils to be able to hear the voices of learning disabled people.
    4. Measures of success
      • Relevant evaluation methods used at Lawnmowers will ensure that this work is fully documented and peoples comments recorded.
      • Tour dates and participants/audience numbers will be monitored and recorded.
      • Feedback will be collected and recorded and venues and participants, including concerns and confusions. We are committed to signpost people to the relevant help and action.
    5. Support
      • Support of everyone at Lawnmowers Independent Theatre Company.
      • Support from Gateshead Council to access day centers and bases.
      • Support of the learning disabled community, their families and friends.

      • I am willing to attend the Festival of Ideas on 12 th November to talk about this project and to be signed up to the Innovation Exchange website to support this knowledge sharing after the event.
      • I do understand that this event is the launch of the North East JIP’s Provider Development Fund and I am interested in the possibility of applying to this Fund in the future
      • I do understand that this Fund will only support projects that involve collaboration between at least two providers of social care services and that funded projects will be part of an evaluation process to include both research interviews and knowledge sharing events.
