an invitation to Festival of Ideas: Innovation for independent living with

What is the Innovation Exchange ? The Innovation Exchange is working to grow innovation with the third sector . The third sector is teeming with solutions, but growing innovation is hard . Innovators, commissioners of services and social investors too often don’t know each other’s phone numbers and lack the capacity and incentive to work together . The Exchange is bringing them together in collaborative innovation around key social challenges.
What is independent living ? Disabled people, (including older disabled people), have challenged the meaning of ‘independence’. ‘Independent living’ does not mean doing things for yourself, or living on your own. Instead, it means:
having choice and control over the assistance and/or equipment needed to go about your daily life
having equal access to housing, transport and mobility, health, employment and education and training opportunities
