Auditing (CoP3) <ul><li>An annual independent audit required for compliance to be certified by COUNTER </li></ul><ul><li>Audit is online, using scripts provided in the Code of Practice </li></ul><ul><li>Auditor can be: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Any Chartered Accountant </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Another COUNTER-approved auditor </li></ul></ul><ul><li>ABCE is the first COUNTER-approved auditor </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Industry-owned </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Not-for-profit </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Independent and impartial </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Part of ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Providing website traffic audits for over 150 companies and certifying over 1400 domains </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Have successfully completed test audits on COUNTER usage reports </li></ul></ul>

Auditing (CoP3) <ul><li>Current vendors had 18 months from initial compliance to pass an audit. </li></ul><ul><li>New vendors declaring COUNTER compliance will have 6 months to successfully pass an audit. </li></ul><ul><li>Audit status is include in the chart showing compliant vendors </li></ul><ul><li>Current statistics on listed vendors: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Passed audit: 70% </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Audit not yet due: 20% </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Audit overdue*: 10% </li></ul></ul><ul><li>* vendors who do not have or pass an audit by the due date will be dropped from the Register of Compliant Vendors </li></ul>
