May 2012 Senior Edition School Counseling Newsletter Graduation: Sunday, June 24th Last day of classes: Time: 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 12th Location: Field House Tickets will be handed out to seniors for Regents Exams: family and friends. June 13th — June 21stSenior Scholarship and Award Ceremony: June 7th Scholarship RecognitionA ceremony is being held to present seniors with Awards & Scholarships. The If your child won an outside scholarshipschool would like to honor seniors in a special forum and acknowledge the people (for example, college scholarship) and youin our community who sponsor the awards. In addition, the recipients receiving the would like him/her to be recognized in the Scholarship packet which is handed out atawards will be able to personally thank those sponsoring the awards. Those sen- the Award Ceremony, please contact Kareniors receiving an award will be sent invitations to attend the ceremony on Thursday, Oas in the School Counseling Office atJune 7th in the Auditorium beginning at 7 pm with refreshments to follow. 728-2214 no later than May 24th. Final Transcript Requests for CollegesMrs. Elliott will send a final transcript to the college you are attending in the fall of 2012 (as stated on Mrs. Fox’s questionnaire). The tran-script will go out the week after July 4th. Additional transcripts can be sent to other colleges upon request. The forms are located on theSchool Counseling Office’s counter top or on the SCO school website. The form should be given to Mrs. Elliott (or put it in her mailbox) andshe will mail the transcript directly to the college. If Mrs. Elliott has questions, she will contact the student for clarification. Please note thatMrs. Elliott’s hours are 10:00 a.m. — 1:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. Genesee Community College Promise PlusGenesee Promise Plus is a special program designed specifically for high school students who are graduating from a high school located in Genesee, Living-ston, Orleans and Wyoming counties in New York State, including Wayland-Cohocton Central School. Under Genesee Promise Plus, every GLOW area Januaryor June high school graduate will receive a scholarship covering the cost of tuition for one or two summer 2012 courses beginning on July 2nd offered byGenesee Community College at any of its seven campus locations in Albion, Arcade, Batavia, Dansville, Lima, Medina, and Warsaw.
