    4. search engines threat or opportunity? some move forward how you might be a winner. New horizons, new bold adventures. New destinations. You can never be sure where you might end up... N: but it's not likely to be

So? they take our money ✓ thats just sad... (Building an argument against the powers in the industry.) go point by point here... AFP in france was not a success (sued google in march -05), now belgium. Hurray, bring in the lawyers ;) HOW is our time best spent? N: To summarize
    7. search engines threat or opportunity? I agree it is a numbers game. Sure, money talks. Everyone agrees? I disagree we can NEVER blame anyone else ✓ and it's not a big problem if someone else ALSO makes money on our content... I agree: of course we can try and strike deals. Find win-wins. Of course we are all in it for the money. But WHO is to pay. Surely not the reader. We believe that model to be dead. And why are we so anal about our content. Lets just make sure OUR product, OUR way of presenting it, OUR editorial process is the best OUR package. The audience and the money will follow. If we don't belive we can do this, then we might be better of in some other industry.

Google gives ”easy” money thru adsense ”easy” traffic thru search a magnificent toolbox ✓ analytics, for one, could save us $$ 8 years on sept 27 a different mindset $80bn market value are they evil? How ever you look at it: keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
    9. search engines threat or opportunity? our BIG opportunity go with the flow make strategic decisions monetize the traffic build a surfboard ;) and start riding it. make sure you, and everyone in your company, knows the direction. Make money, the right way. By being the best you can. In all you channels. There is a world of possibilities if we let them in. Set a price on every unique visitor/visit. Do the math. N:but don't take it from me
