  • Your Starter Show is like getting a running start when you fly a kite. With a good running start, your kite (business) will soar high and fast and steady. Without a running start, your kite (business) will still get off the ground, but not as quickly and not without some bumps. It’s still possible to be successful with less than 5 bookings to start…I’m proof of that, but it’s not easy and not nearly as much fun or profitable.

  • Have everyone fill out their form and set a goal.
  • Use Commission Table to determine # of shows needed to make X amount of $$$. General approximation is 5.5 hours of “work” per show: 45 minutes for ordering hostess gift, mailing invites, preparing for show. 1 hour for driving to show and setting up. 2 hours for show. 1 hour for clean up, summarizing with hostess, and driving back. 45 minutes for outside orders, closing show, thanking hostess.

Breakdown these goals into smaller, bite sized chunks. What needs to happen in 6 months to meet this goal? What needs to happen in 1 month (each month) to make this happen? But by being positive, your business and your life will flow in a positive direction and you’ll be able to deal with bumps in the road so much easier. Sales can be an unpredictable business.
