    thanks. i think that is a good question. depends on what you want to be famous for. you can be famous for really good things. in life - we make choices and if you wish to make the wrong choices then that will lead to infamy. smoking and drinking - thank g-d - are not illegal, but if that is what you are famous for then that is a choice and behavior that only the person can determine. it is up to the audience to laud, accept, encourage or discourage that behavior. I would argue that some celebrities are celebrated for their talents and their character flaws or personality weaknesses are amplified by the constant attention.

    One question that American star culture does not seem to ask: is fame a good thing? Aren’t we buying into fame like we pick up smoking and drinking?
