Living Environment Regents
Overview• 43 part A and B-1 multiple choice questions• 15 Part B-2 questions – Reading comprehension – Multiple choice/short answer – Graph with corresponding questions• 15 Part C short answer/short essay• 12 Part D multiple choice/short answer based on state labs• Typically about 80-85 questions per Regents – 3 hours to finish exam (don’t panic!)
Multiple Choice• Tips: – Read the question carefully! – Underline keywords • Breakdown vocabulary – Cross out bad answers or “distractors”
Short Answer• Tips: – Read the question carefully! – Underline keywords • Breakdown vocabulary – If there is a picture, chart, or diagram, that means the answer is there! You have to know where to look!
Graphs• Analyze data and pick an appropriate scale• ALWAYS start from zero or use a scale break• Check the key to make sure you are plotting correctly – Bar vs. Line – Your graph must occupy 75% of the axes
