“Nine’s” Technique Instruction Benefits: This technique was given to Master Lin in a meditation and can be done standing, sitting, or lying down. The first choice is standing. Feel free to sit down during the exercise if you need to do so. If you do it while sitting, be sure to not lean your back against the back of the chair. This form utilizes the turning of the neck and the column of light to “jump start” open channels down each side of the body. This form also helps centralize and build energy in the heart area, the immune system and lymph system. It also helps build the life force energy center – the lower Dantain. When your turn your neck slowly to one side and then the other, you feel pull all the way down your torso. Many channels including the Gall bladder channel and lymph system lead through this area. Many people have had amazing results. It has helped many people with cancer and is especially effective for anyone with lymph or immune system blockages. Opening the neck area heals headaches and opens channels in the entire upper body. As it clears the liver, ones eyes can be helped as well. How to perform this exercise: Opening/Prepare Yourself • Lightly bounce with your feet flat on the floor for 2-5 minutes • Ready yourself in the beginning of the Universe posture • Say the password • Call upon your master’s energy Opening Prayer • Hold your hands at heart-level in a prayer position, fingers and palms touch, but the main pressure is in the fingertips. Pointing the tips of your fingers straight up is good, toward the throat is better, and toward the heart is best. • Take a few minutes to say a prayer for your healing, peace for the people of the world, or healing for friends and family members.

The Movement • Upon completing your prayer, turn your hands so the right hand is palm-down on top of the left, which is palm up. • Separate your hands so the right (palm-down) hand is just above the heart area, and the left (palm up) hand is just below the navel. Your fingers are slightly open, hands are not touching the body and your head is facing forward. • Visualize a column of light from the top of your head to the bottom of your torso. The size of the column is up to your visualization. • Now turn your head to the left and breathe 9 slow, deep, long breaths (use the breathing technique you learned in Level I). • Turn your head to the center and breathe 9 slow, deep, long breaths. • Finally, turn your head to the right and breathe 9 slow, deep, long breaths. • Repeat, starting with your head to the left, center, then right for a total of 6 times. can while you Afte up to 9 repetitions. The Ending • Rub your hands • Rub your face • Comb your hair with your fingertips. • Pat your head • Massage your ears • Pat your left arm • Pat your right arm • Pat your torso • Pat down your left side starting under your arm • Pat down your right side starting under your arm. • Massage your stomach • Bend over and cup your kidneys • Massage your kidneys with the backs of your hands. • Massage your kidneys with your palms • Put your hands together in front of you and rub your hands until they are very hot. Now

place them on your kidneys feeling the energy passing between your palms and your kidneys for a minute or two. • Slightly bend forward and pat your tailbone for one to three minutes. You may do this using one or both hands. This exercise is very helpful for opening the lymph channels as well as all the channels in the torso. This helps with immune conditions, colds or infections as well as cancer. Master Lin often recommends using this exercise for 2 hours per day for those with cancer. As with all Spring Forest Qigong Exercises there is no wrong way to do this exercise, only good, better and best.
