  • 1. Today in Science
    • You will Need:
    • Pencil, Colored Pencils , Highlighters or Markers
    • Physical Properties of Matter Lab – 2 page 3 sides- Bookshelf
  • 2. Assignment Log #2 9/13 9/22 Binder Check #1 9/13 9/14 Metric Review- end of period   9/15 9/16 Matter Power Notes 50   9/19 9/20 Physical Properties Lab 55   9/22 9/22 Test #1 + ½ page of notes /20      
  • 3. Binder Check #1 & Test #1
    • Binder check is graded for ORGANIZATION – if you have the papers in the correct order and all are included, this is an easy assignment to get an “A” on.
    • The Binder is due at the beginning of the period . While you take your test, I will grade your binders.
    • Test #1 – Create a ½ page of notes , front side only and done by hand . Target Concepts listed on Learning Point

    • Why do scientists classify items?
    * * * In this simple investigation you will observe and record the physical attributes of a specific item. You will need to make sure your data is not only accurate but that you pay close attention to the specific details of your item.

    • Problem : After making careful observations and recording detailed characteristics, can the same item be later identified by its unique qualities?
    • Materials :
      • 1 Unique item bag per table – EACH team member receives one time out of the 4 in the bag
      • cm ruler- cut from pg. 3
      • Pencil
      • Colored pencils
      • Lab Sheet

    • Jobs : Fill in the names of the team members into the appropriate job description
    • PLEASE DO NOT HURT OR MARK YOUR ITEM IN ANY WAY
    • Materials Manager :
    • Pick up a Numbered Unique item bag
    • Manager :
    • Make sure each person gets their own item
    • Timer:
    • Keep track of the time remaining today
    • Oral Presenter:
    • Clarify Questions

    • 3: ½ page of notes for Test #1 on Thur. (front side only done by hand)

        • Binder Check #1 –Cover, Table of Contents, Tabs & Organize Papers – due next Tuesday
