Clouds are made of tiny water or ice droplets formed through the water cycle of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. There are four main types of clouds: cirrus, which are the highest and feathery white clouds; stratus, which are low gray blanket-like clouds; cumulus, which are puffy white clouds in the middle sky that change shape; and cumulonimbus, which are tall, dark, and fluffy clouds that can cause thunderstorms.
