Master of Business Administration – EntrepreneurshipName and Duration of the CourseThis course is a two year full time programme and called as Master of BusinessAdministration – EntrepreneurshipCourse DescriptionEntrepreneurial skills and thinking are actively sought by more competitive and profitablegrowing businesses. The MBA - Entrepreneurship provides MBA students with skills,analytical tools, perspectives, and experiences that prepare them for careers as autonomousentrepreneurs, family-business entrepreneurs, or entrepreneurs in corporate settings.This program consists of variety of courses customized as the perfect integration ofmultiple areas of business management and administration. The emphasis in thiscourse is on applying and synthesizing concepts and techniques from functional areas ofstrategic management, finance, accounting, managerial economics, marketing, operationsmanagement, and organizational behavior in the context of new venture development.The special strength of this program is that it combines theory with practice, providingstudents the opportunity to test the theories, models, and strategies learned in the classroomby creating real business plans, working on other field projects, and gaining access andinsight from leaders in the entrepreneurial business community.ObjectivesThe purpose of this course is to explore the many dimensions of new venture creation andgrowth. While most of the examples in class will be drawn from new venture formation, theprinciples also apply to entrepreneurship in corporate settings and to non-profitentrepreneurship. This course is designed to develop skills in successfully initiating,expanding, diversifying and managing a business enterprise with focus onunderstanding real life business situations and business practices. Further, it isexpected to inculcate among students, entrepreneurial competencies including self-confidence, goal setting, planning, information seeking, problem solving and plannedrisk taking. Students learn the distinct differences between becoming anentrepreneur and being an employee. They explore a career in owning their ownbusiness and becoming their own boss within a context of experiential learningopportunities. Students further identify the skills and educational requirementsnecessary to become a successful entrepreneur and business owner.
