Name & Duration of the CourseThis is a one year course and the name of the course shall be Master of Philosophyin Social Work.Course DescriptionThe M.Phil course is a comprehensive program which covers all the different aspectsof Social Work. While the course is primarily theoretical, there is a good blend ofcase studies and visits to NGOs to enable the students to undertake research workand thus it will enable them in conducting research in different areas of Social Work.Objectives To prepare them for undertaking higher responsibilities in such areas as socialwork education, research, policy formulation, planning and administration To promote scientific enquiry that further develops the social work profession. To support training of social workers and researchers wishing to pursue higherdegrees in Social Work.Learning OutcomesThe expected learning outcomes are: Develop analytical skills to analyze information through the application of socialscience research methodologies.
