    • Name & Duration of the CourseThis is a one year course and the name of the course shall be Master of Philosophy inPsychology .Course DescriptionThe M.Phil course is a comprehensive program which has scope to cover all thedifferent aspects of human psychology and provides students with Post Graduation inthe area of Psychology opportunities to pursue further in their area of interest andspecialisation. While the course is primarily theoretical, there is a good blend ofprojects, case studies and visits to institutions to enable the students to get well-versedwith the functioning of the different areas of applications of human psychology andpractice of knowledge.Objectives To provide an advanced course of study to post-graduates in Psychology To provide training required for undertaking research work and to train them toconduct research in different areas of human psychology To prepare them for undertaking higher responsibilities in such areas as highereducation, research, policy formulation, planning and administration in the areasof Counselling, Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Health Psychology etc.Learning OutcomesThe expected learning outcomes are: Develop analytical skills to formulate researchable questions in an independentmanner and to analyze information through the application of social scienceresearch methodologies. Ability to locate and evaluate in a critical manner relevant sources for a researchproject in the area of human psychology Ability to conduct research and build skills in a field of specialization in Psychology Develop research projects and contribute to research activities and to the well-beingof humanity To draw policy implications or to make informed decisions based on researchfindings
