Name of the Course Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication (BJMC)Duration of the Course The programme can be completed in three years.Course DescriptionThe programme provides professional education for those wishing to become mediaand communication professionals. It has a strong emphasis on developingprofessional and analytical skills and offers a curriculum and syllabus that ensurethese professionalism and practical skills. The course is designed to providestudents with technical, organisational and practical knowledge on print, broadcast,digital media communications and corporate communication activities. The coursealso provides strong foundation to pursue higher courses in Mass Communicationand Journalism.ObjectivesThe course introduces the students to the vast and dynamic world of mass mediacommunication such as Print, Radio, Television and Digital, and the area ofCorporate Communication and Public Relations and intends to give a strongfoundation to the students. The students will be equipped with journalistic skills andprofessionalism and will be developing competence in their respective areas ofspecialisation.In addition to providing training in professional journalistic skills and techniques likenewspaper and magazine reporting and editing, radio and TV production, webdesigning and e-newspaper, the programme includes courses in computertechnology and multimedia.
