    • B A Hons (Economics)Name and Duration of the CourseThis is a Three year course and the name of the course shall be Bachelor of Arts (Honours) inEconomics.Course DescriptionB.A (HONS) Economics is a course in applied economics and alongside the academic trainingin order to sharpen essential skills in marketing and communication, the students undergocorporate summer training, to get a better understanding of business environment and realorganizational problems. It enables students to develop knowledge and understanding of thebusiness world and of the economy as a whole. This course provides students with thenecessary conceptual and analytical skills to understand a broad range of themes in businessand economics. It prepares students for a wide range of careers in private and public sectororganisations.ObjectivesEconomics as a discipline offers enormous opportunities of growth in learning and theprofessional life as a whole. Especially during these times of financial turmoil when everyoneis seeking someone to make some sense of the bizarre set of events that has transformed theway that the world understood economies. Economists today command tremendousimportance and thus it is an opportune time to take a plunge into the sea of knowledge and becognizant of the theories and principles that decipher the dynamics of the global economy.BAHE (HONS) Economics as a course offers an attractive mix of intellectual growth andcorporate exposure with an inherent affiliation to developing world class professional with apotential to make a mark on the global economy.After completing the course one can pursue Masters Degree in Economics or MBE, and goahead and pursuit an advanced degree in management to take on cardinal roles in largecorporations. Demand for qualified, experience economist is very high & job prospects aretremendous. The demand for business economics has increased tremendously particularly inthe corporate sector, research and business. A number of big industrial houses are employingbusiness economists.Learning OutcomesThe students will able to understand and study production, distribution & consumption ofgoods & services on the applications of economic policy in particular area such as finance,labour, agriculture, transportation, energy & health.
