What is E-Rate? E-Rate is the commonly used name for the Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund. It is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). Provides discounts to assist schools to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.
How does E-Rate work? Schools must prepare a technology plan. Then the schools procures the services. Then they must apply for funding. The application is reviewed. The school then receive services.

Technology Plan Overview Consists of of five major goals: #1: Utilize technology as a tool to foster improvement in the levels of academic achievement. #2: Identify and promote curricula and teaching strategies that integrate technology. #3: Provide leadership in the area of technology and improve the quality of communication. #4: To implement a comprehensive human and technical infrastructure for the implementation of technology within District. #5: Allocate funds to ensure that all campuses have the appropriate support to carry out all of the Campus Technology instructional goals.
Summary Poteet ISD has a clear technology plan in place. E-Rate is available to use to receive discounts on telecommunications and internet connectivity. Poteet ISD is eligible for E-Rate discounts.
