    • Special School No. 6 “ Sf . Nicolae” Bucharest
      • Special School No.6 was founded in 1969 as the largest special school in Bucharest and the second in the country. It was conceived like a complex unit made of the special school, home, cafeteria, and annexes – laundry, warming control point, stores. Till 1998 the place was a complex for education, protection and defense of mentally disabled minors. Now the place is only a school, and offers services of therapy, stimulation, teaching, learning and education for children with special educational needs.
    • The school mission:
      • Making easy the school integration for pupils with special education needs.
      • Strategic targets:
      • Increasing the education quality by promoting the education for all;
      • Personal, professional and institutional development;
      • Promoting the role of the support teacher;
      • To provide equal opportunities for all, eliminating any form of discrimination;
      • Assurance of a permanent partnership between the school - parents – community.
    • Projects and competitions targets:
      • Socialization of pupils with special needs.
      • International culture exchange.
      • Forming personal autonomy.
      • Experience exchange between partners.
    • Resources PUPILS: Our school has 21 6 children in different degrees of education (kindergarten, primary and secondary school) aged between 3 and 18 years of which. ► 97 children with severe/associated disabilities ; ► 1 19 children with mild disabilities (mental disabilities and behaviour disorders). Our school also offers educational assistence for another 22 0 children with special educational needs who are integrated in 22 mainstream schools in district 4 of Bucharest , one kindergarten and one high school.
    • THE STUDENTS PROGRAM
      • The school has a semi-boarding program
      • Every day the children come to school at 8 o’clock in the morning and leave at 6 o’clock in the afternoon
      • In the afternoon the children have therapy programs and in the morning they have learning activities
      • After school the children go back home.

        • The government tries to prepare the young people with intellect problems for society, but, although they are prepared for work, they can’t find a job because people don’t want to employ them.
