Slide 3: Selections • Lots of time is spent making selections • Once a selection is made, changes to the image only take place inside of the selection • Selections can be done based on: • Regular shapes • Tones and colors • “Edges” • Freehand

Slide 4: Formats for the WWW GIF - JPEG - Supports 256 colors - Supports “millions of (only 216 for the Web) colors” - Supports animations - Supports various - Supports transparent levels of compression areas

Slide 5: Formats for the WWW • Ensure your color mode • Image->Mode->RGB Color • Ensure your dpi • Image->Image Size and ensure dpi is set for 72 • Ensure your scale • Look at the title bar and zoom until it reads 100%-> This is the size of your web image

Slide 6: Formats for the WWW • Choose File-Save for Web • Use the “Optimize” tab to see how the original will actually look. • Try various compression settings. • Remember, “Save for Web” saves a COPY of the original
