All Saints' Day

 1. 1. ALL SAINTS ’ DAY AND ALL SOULS ’ DAY IN POLAND By Marcin Grzyb
 2. 2.

The first day of November is All Saints’ Day. It is a National holiday in Poland , a day when people all over the country visit the graves of their loved ones .

 3. 3.

On that day we usually travel to the places where our relatives are buried. We go to the cemeteries and clean the graves . We decorate the graves with candles and bunches of flowers.

 4. 4.

On All Saints’ Day all families gather in the cemeteries. We pray and attend the Holy M ass together. The M ass is celebrated for the salvation of the dead. This is time to think about those who are no longer with us and about ourselves and our kind of lives. After the M ass, people meet their families in their houses. They eat a meal together and talk .

 5. 5.

This day, in the middle of autumn , when all nature seems to be almost dead , is a good time to ponder over the meaning of life and death.
