  • A Collection Upon Every First Day1 Corinthians 16:1-2 ESV (1) Now concerning the collection for thesaints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. (2)On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something asideand store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collectingwhen I come. Kata – has a distributive force, every first day. (Vincent’s Word Study)
  • A Collection Upon Every First Day Our Collection on Sunday is for:1. Pay for Preacher; 1 Cor. 9:14; Gal. 6:6; 1 Tim. 5:17-18 (elder/preacher)2. Support for Missionaries; 2 Cor. 11:93. Christians in need; 1 Cor. 16:1,2; Acts 11:27-30; 4:34;1 Tim. 5:9,104. All in need; Gal. 6:10; James 1:275. Things necessary for congregation to assemble together, Heb. 10:256. Things necessary to fulfill evangelism or teaching (Matthew 28:18- 20; 2 Tim. 2:2)7. Things necessary to fulfill edification of church (1 Cor. 14:26)8. Things needed for worship, i.e. items for Lord’s supper, aids to help in worship like song books, etc.
