How to Eat to Lose Weight!

  2. 2. As an experiment on my Facebook Page I askedthe following question: “Your Mid-Morning Go-To Energy Boost Snack Is ________.”I honestly didn’t think much of the post. Ithought it would be a fun way to see what types ofsnacks people munch on during their work day.

But in asking the question I found a very disturbing trend.Out of all the answers, 2 responses dominated thelist ■NOTHING ■COFFEEI hate to break it to you, but neither of those answersare going to yield the results you are hoping for!Coffee and starving yourself will not boost yourenergy, nor will it help you lose weight.
  4. 4. As a former fat guy I do understand this thoughtprocess though. I had a very messed uprelationship with food. So I thought, if I don’t eatit then I will lose weight…right? WRONG!Your body is in the business of survival! So whenyou starve it, it hangs on to those fat stores forsurvival! The best thing you can do for your body isto feed it on a regular basis. Ideally every 2 ½ to 3hours.
  5. 5. If I reach the 4 hour mark between mealsEVERYONE around me knows it. It’s kind of likewhen Bruce Banner would say “You wouldn’t likeme when I’m angry” …. right before his eyes wouldturn turquoise.Ok maybe I don’t turn into the Incredible Hulk,but my mood drastically shifts and it is hard forme to concentrate on anything for very long.Those are signs from your body that it is low onfuel.
  6. 6. One of the biggest mental hurdles for me to overcome during my 100 pound weight loss journey was that I needed to eat to lose weight! Actually, I needed to eat MORE to lose weight! Wait!!!! What??!?!?!I’m already fat from eating too much, and now I am suppose to eat MORE.I thought the whole point was to eat less to weigh less.
  7. 7. Have you ever felt that way?Maybe that is a reason you consistently skipbreakfast. It’s usually the easiest meal to skip.You think, ‘I’m short on time in the morning’ and‘I’m not hungry in the morning’ – so this seems likea good spot to sub in a coffee and cut calories formy day.
  8. 8. It’s an understandable mistake. I use to dothe same thing, then get frustrated because I wasn’t seeing results. It would also happen when I used to wait tables. I would work long hours withouteating, then eat one meal after work – yet I continued to GAIN weight!
  9. 9. Once I embraced the concept that I had to eat to lose weight I started seeing results QUICKLY!My breakfast now is always my Shakeology, which takesme exactly 5 minutes to make. Plus it’s easy to drink onthe go. Other alternatives are cooking your breakfastbefore bed (like Oatmeal and Egg Whites) andreheating in the morning.I challenge you to look at my previous post on planningyour meals ahead, follow it for 7 days and let me knowyour results on my Facebook Page.

Even though this method has been extremelysuccessful for me the past 10 years, I am now having totrust this concept on a whole new level.I have just finished the first month of Beachbody’snew program BODY BEAST.It is a bodybuilding program designed to help youbuild muscle. Muscle gain = Weight Gain.And in order for that to happen I am having to eatmore than I am accustomed to eating.

Even though I haven’t been ‘Fat Jimmy’ for over 10years, a lot of those same fears of gaining weightback still exist.However, just like I did when I first got started, Ihad to choose to trust those who had done itbefore me and follow the system.This program was designed over a 2 year span bychampion bodybuilder, Sagi Kalev.
