2010 The Sakyong’s Year of Retreat

He shared that he wanted us to take this time as a sangha to envision what kind of community could be possible in the future and what each of us as members are willing to do to make that happen…”

Boston Shambhala Center Vision Statement
It is the intention of Boston Shambhala Center to manifest the vision of Shambhala Buddhism through joining spirituality and practicality in accordance with the teachings of the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Ch ö gyam Trungpa Rinpoche. We are committed to creating a society of warrior-practitioners based on courage, trust, generosity, and kindness — supporting, strengthening and nourishing ourselves and the greater society around us. The Center offers a wide range of practice and study opportunities through which individuals can train on the path of awakening, and more completely experience the dignity of being human. Our goal is to continually expand our activities, attract a more diverse membership, engage deeply with the surrounding community and truly enrich the world by being full present in our daily lives.
