• delayed the training and changes made to how Expo was approached set back some of the work students were able to accomplish in class. Our center for teaching and learning is short-staffed limiting availability Lost time for students in the writing class as a result of other issues created a disconnect between the ePortfolio and the first year writing course
  • Expo LX was chosen for the ePortfolio pilot project, already existed within ease of use

    40. 40. The first class….

Our Pilot began with a small, freshman learning community of 9 students who share three of their courses: College Writing, Economics, and CORE (Civics/History freshman course).

The coursework intermingles through readings, lectures and assignments, and the plan for incorporating the ePortfolio within this cohort was to use ePortfolio as a way of further enhancing the integration of learning.

College of Staten Island 3/19
    41. 41. Our objectives:

One class hour each week, students focused on

the concept of ePortfolio and the digital college campus

technical training to use blackboard and Expo

technical design to set up their own portfolio.

The final piece included 3 pages (“Tabs”) :

“ About Me”

Content page (links to both CORE and ENGLISH

Project page (which was our ‘sandbox’ preparing for next semester.

College of Staten Island 4/19
