  • 8. Student Work
    • “… it made me realize the value of what I wanted a future employer to see about me. It will add depth to my future assignments as I will want to continue to build it using exercises or assignments I will want to "show off". I had not completed prior exercises or assignments with that mentality and I think it will improve the quality of my output.”

  • 9. Student Reactions to Epsilen
    • “ With Epsilen anyone can create a group and invite whom ever they choose …
    • … there is an area to take notes. This window is connected directly to the class and is automatically dated. This can help students by keeping them organized and prepared for class …
    • [It] offers the choice of saving any work the student chooses and places it into his or her portfolio and they never have to worry about losing it …
    • A student may also need to look back on his or her previous work for a different class they are taking. It is my own personal opinion to have Epsilen as the main tool for Queens College. I strongly detest Blackboard and have a found a ‘ love ’ for Epsilen. ”

    • Subject: ePortfolio thoughts
    • I'm a little rushed this morning, but wanted to say that I am so, so happy to have been able to work with this project.  Over this last weekend, several of my students fully embraced the concept.  If we had been ready earlier, I would have proudly nominated at least two, and dare say they would have given the winners a run for their money!  I am proud of their efforts.  Roberto's assistance was invaluable.  Right now, the portfolios are 'under lock and key' as we add the final exam essay, but when they are published, you might want to take a look.  I know Cindy has already seen Barb Smith's.
    • What surprised me -- even as I promoted the project saying this would be the case -- was the degree to which I honestly DID get a broader, more balanced view of students.  Interests, personalities -- I'm not going to want to teach another writing course without ePortfolios!
