  • Good morning students. Here’s a question for all of you before we start. What do you think is volunteerism?Let me show you a video as you ponder over the question.
  • Giving Money – Charity Shows to raise fund for beneficiaries such as the Children Cancer society, NKF and many more.
  • Giving Time
  • Do you think it only happen in TV programmes? Definitely not!Today, we had a chance to step forward to visit and help out a needy resident, MrLoh to spruce up his flat.We helped to clean up his flat, repaint the walls, and added in some new furniture for him.It was indeed a good pre-CNY cleaning work out!And certainly, a meaningful Saturday well-spent, with a great sense of fulfillment at the end.
  • Bedroom: Before
  • Bedroom: After!
  • We are happy to see the happy smiles on MrLoh!It makes all the hard work very worthwhile.
  • Baking and spreading the love during the festive season.Pineapple tarts for those we care!During this festive season, we would gather everyone (our volunteers and public) to start rounds of baking session, baking the all-time-favourite “Ong Lai” (pineapple tarts) to share with the less fortunate who are staying in the homes, and might not have a chance of celebrating such a joyous festival with their loved ones. At the same time, it is a great bonding session with the many rounds of baking in the kitchen. The kitchen was humming with activity: expert hands cracking eggs, fingers religiously kneading fluffy dough, strong arms stirring surprisingly tough & sticky brownish pineapple fillings and helpers scurrying along, grabbing flour, spoons and trays. All in a seemingly harmonious exercise!
  • The excitement came when the very first tray of piping hot and crispy (and very browned-out) authentic home-made tarts rolled out of the oven.
  • Look at the bottles and bottles and cookies we baked that’s ready for deliver!
  • The young, the old, we had a chance to invite many different people to come together and bake pineapple tarts to give to our beneficiaries!
  • Look at the bottles and bottles and cookies we baked that’s ready for deliver!
  • After spending days in the kitchen, we would repack and prepare small packs of pineapple tarts to distribute to each and everyone in the homes, personally! Visiting the different homes, passing our home-made tarts personally to them, exchanging conversations and engaging them with activities and fun, we certainly hope our little efforts did make their Chinese New Year a happier and loved one.
  • It may not be the most yummy and tasty cookies that we have baked, but we truly baked them with our sincere hearts and we hope to spread the warmth and love to more people around us.We know the elderly at the homes felt it. 
  • Someone lives when someone gives. Do you know that 1 bag of blood can save 3 lives?
  • Overseas Community Involvement Project at an Orphanage, named Kolup 4, situated at the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Phen.We taught them skills and craftwork, where they can earn a living with it in the future.
  • Overseas Community Involvement Project at an Orphanage, named Kolup 4, situated at the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Phen.We taught them skills and craftwork, where they can earn a living with it in the future.
  • Kind souls who donated new uniforms for all the kids in school at the small island.
  • These kids who stayed in the orphanage, lived on sponsorship from kind souls coming from all over the world, with only 20 USD for a month, covering their living expenses, school fees, food, clothings and everything. We also brought over computer educational software where the children can explore with the laptops that was donated by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. After that, we had the Care Giver from the home to bring us to the factory.
  • As we wanted to purchase…. New Slippers for everyone at Kolup 4 Orphanage!
  • Check out everyone’s happy smiles upon receiving their new slippers!
  • A happy group photo with everyone at the home as a memory.
  • Let me end my talk with a quote that Auntie Mary mentioned in her video:“It is more blessed to give than to receive”It is to step out of your comfort zone and develop the heart for volunteerism.Spend your time meaningfully and derive the great sense of satisfaction through these meaningful acts.It is also the joy and passion in bringing smiles and spreading love to more people! Our lives become more purposeful when we make a difference in the lives of others. The great personal fulfillment and a sense of meaning which you will achieve through these acts.Even if it is the tiniest little efforts or time that was contributed, no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. So long as you do it with your heart, and love.
  • Good morning students. Here’s a question for all of you before we start. What do you think is volunteerism?Let me show you a video as you ponder over the question.
  • VIA are learning experiences that support students' development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. VIA fosters student ownership over how they can contribute to the community. As part of VIA, students reflect on their experience, the values they have put into practice and how they can continue to contribute meaningfully to home, school and nation. develop their sense of belonging and commitment to our school and country.
  • These are some of theprogrammes carried out in and out of school
  • VIA start from home with pupils helping your parents by making your bed and sweeping the floor. In school, pupils participate in activities likelitter picking and classroom decoration and classroom duties are some of the services done by you to the school .We appreciate all your services. You are helping the school in many ways .Keep on doing the good job.
  • P3 to P1 Buddy Programme.
  • One of the P4 Art works displayed in Sembawang Library in Sun Plaza currently.
  • Learning the values on how to take care of the environment we live. The pupils learn to care and beautify for the environment, create better study environment and a sense of belonging.
  • Lower primary pupils will recycle some of the used bottles plastic into the recycling bins outside the canteen. It does not stop there, you have to reflect on why you are doing such activities
  • Service comes in many form. One such form is also donation drive -Showing Care for the Community. Donation Drive-Raising Funds for the Charity. Pupils services are acknowledge as the number of h contributed will be reflected in your report book under VIA h.
  • Endeavour Primary Three and four pupils have been volunteering in school in countries like Malacca and Thailand . They performed and gave specially prepared gifts for the pupils in these countries. They show care for everyone. There is a good Intereaction amongst pupils in different nations
  • Appreciate the volunteerism from the Endeavour pupils . One such example is a volunteer Chia Shu Qin from Primay 5A in the performing area. Apart from performing in both primary and secondary schools, she has also performed in many places likes Sembawang CC ,Teck Ghee CC and Kolam Ayer CC. She has contributed 48 h of service .
  • We would like to give her a round of appaluse for her service not only in school but to the community too. We would like more Endeavour pupils follow her path.
  • All Teachers and the P5 pupils in Endeavour will be making well wishing cards to the residents in the homes. It will be given to them during the visit at the end of the year.
  • Here are some of the beautiful cards done by our teachers. In addition this, our teachers also take party in charity runs and some of the activities like donation drive too. Everyone plays a part to be of service .
  • Everyone and anyone can engage in volunteering activities which will benefit many just with some effort and time. Regardless of age gender, race and religion, you can be a volunteer. With that we end our presentation with a short video .
  • Together, I hope we can build and spread the Endeavour Volunteerism Spirit!Thank you.
