Sync is automatic
If workspace is open, sync is every 10 minutes
If workspace is closed, sync happens every 20 minutes
Client side edits are uploaded immediately
List items changes, only the list is checked not the entire workspace

Whenever a file is opened, a check is done with the server for a more recent version
Only happens if online

Limit of sync to 30,000 items in a list

Admin can prevent content from be taken offline

Conflict Management
Backstage allows you to see who is editing the item as the same time
Changes to Office documents can be merged
Other files resolve conflicts same as 2007, (1) in filename (PDF etc)
