SPWS connects to SharePoint the same way your users do No need for special firewall rules It detects alternate access mappings Connecting a workspace is simple Connecting to SharePoint 3
Sync is automatic If workspace is open, sync is every 10 minutes If workspace is closed, sync happens every 20 minutes Client side edits are uploaded immediately List items changes, only the list is checked not the entire workspace 4
Item Access Whenever a file is opened, a check is done with the server for a more recent version Only happens if online 5
Limitations Full experience only with SharePoint 2010 SharePoint works with classic workspace Limit of sync to 30,000 items in a list 6
