Northeast Gordon Estate NP 208 Street Corridor
“ There have been several requests from owners of land generally located along the 208 Street alignment in Northeast Gordon Estate to increase some of the densities along that corridor. Staff believe that given the projected traffic volumes using 208 Street and the proximity to the Regional Town Centre, higher densities can be supported.
There is potential, as in the Yorkson NP Update, to increase density (although probably not to the same extent as the Yorkson NP) to promote a more walkable, transit-friendly corridor . There would also be potential to increase the green space components if densities are increased.
This component of planning work in the Northeast Gordon Estate NP area was not anticipated in the 2007 Work Program. However, it is currently estimated that it could be incorporated in the same planning process as the Central Gordon Estate area planning with additional staff resources in 2008.”
