2. Ex. 1) A surveyor is standing 115 ft. from the
Washington Monument. He measures the angle
of elevation to the top of the monument as
78.3°. How tall is the Washington Monument?

3. Ex. 2) A lighthouse is 200 yards from a bike
path. The walkway to the lighthouse is 400
yards long. Find the angle between the bike
path and walkway.

4. Ex. 3) A 40-ft. lighthouse is on top of a 250 ft.
cliff. The lighthouse spots a sailboat at 12 pm.
The angle of depression to the boat is 3°.
After a few hours, the angle of depression to
the boat is now 10°. How far has the boat
sailed during those few hours?
