    • Use Social Media – without understanding it from a consumer perspective it will be hard to leverage it for your business.
    • Listen - Set up Google Alerts, Google Reader (subscribe to websites) and Twitter Search.
    • Engage – Join LinkedIn Groups and Facebook Fan Pages of companies you are passionate about. Start commenting, posting questions, etc.
    • Create Your Plan – what is your goal for social media? Who is going to be responsible for it? Which social media networks make the most sense for your business?
    • Measure Results – social media is not about selling; however, if it does not generate return on investment (YOUR TIME) what is the point? Leverage tools like Facebook Insights and Google Analytics to determine results against your goals.
