Facebook (Con’t) <ul><li>Facebook is changing the landscape of communication. </li></ul><ul><li>Connecting people to past and present </li></ul><ul><li>Being mobile and changing how we do business it is helping people gain understanding of people through multiple angles. </li></ul><ul><li>In July, the California startup company announced it had hit the 250 million-user mark, which indicates it has grown by 50 million users in two months. That's more than 800,000 new users per day. </li></ul>

Linked In (con’t) <ul><li>A professional social network </li></ul><ul><li>Links people with like minds </li></ul><ul><li>With more than 45 million users representing 150 industries around the world, LinkedIn is a fast-growing professional networking site that allows members to create business contacts, search for jobs, and find potential clients. Individuals have the ability to create their own professional profile that can be viewed by others in their network, and also view the profiles of their own contacts. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Twitter <ul><li> </li></ul><ul><li>140 character limit </li></ul><ul><li>Social Network which allows you to not have a mutual relationship </li></ul><ul><li>Global opportunities </li></ul><ul><li>Tweetups and other networking events happen which brings groups of people together </li></ul>

Twitter tools <ul><li>Tweetdeck and Seesmic allows you to see your followers and put them into groups. </li></ul><ul><li>Tweetchat if you use this as a learning channel. </li></ul><ul><li>Creating a stream of content from the hash tag which is being used. </li></ul><ul><li>There are a variety of tools to make your life easier and make Twitter worth your time and effort. </li></ul>

Why these networks are important <ul><li>Social Media is changing communication channels. </li></ul><ul><li>They are breaking barriers of communication and changing how people see brands and creating personal brands </li></ul><ul><li>Being able to network in more then one way is allowing us to become more connected which makes business easier </li></ul><ul><li>Helping to eliminate the cold call as well because you are having a handshake through the Internet. </li></ul>

Blogs <ul><li>Web logs- used to be known as a personal web log. </li></ul><ul><li>They have changed and become more business oriented and used to show your expertise in something </li></ul><ul><li>Business are using them and it is common for people who are seeking new employment to start one to show they are knowledgeable in a topic. </li></ul><ul><li>Wordpress and Blogger are the favorite platforms used. </li></ul><ul><li>They can be linked to other social networks like Facebook and Linked In. </li></ul><ul><li> </li></ul>
