  • 1.   The origins of the city date back to 1906 when the railway from the South Pacific railroad company came to this area of the yaqui A flag station was established in 1907 to make locomotive crossing the State supply of water, this station was called Cajeme. Cajeme is the name of a Yaqui leader (whose population lives in this zone) which fought against these as part of the porfirian army; and that then he will lead against the same Porfirio Díaz yaqui rebellion.

Form the lake or reservoir Oviachic.  The Expo Obregon is traditionally developed in the month of may in a family atmosphere. The city also plays host to attached of the "Festival Dr. poplars" Alfonso Ortiz Tirado.
  • 7.  This art and culture festival held in the month of November to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the municipality of Cajeme with the support of the Municipal Institute of culture and the National Council for culture and the arts. This festival offers music, painting, cinema, poetry, book presentations and shows the culture and traditions of the Yaqui ethnic group.
  • 8.  Among the productive activities are agriculture, industry, livestock, fisheries, trade, aquaculture and tourism.  Obregon has 298,625 inhabitants. For its part the Cajeme municipality has 409,310 inhabitants.
  • 9.  It is located south of the state, 50 km from the coast of the Sea of Cortez and 115 km of high mountains (above 1500 m), 240 km far from Hermosillo, the state capital.  The city features a warm desert climate . The temperature in January, the coldest month of winter, ranges from 6 ° (minimum) and 24 ° C (maximum); in July, the hottest month of the summer, ranges between 24 ° C and 38 ° C.
  • 10.  Among the most abundant species are: Palo Verde, Palo Azul, mesquite, Pitaya, Sina, Etcho, and Choya. But, by the use of soil and human activities, the original vegetation has been virtually replaced in certain areas; in the urban area by tree vendors of shadow, and palm trees for aesthetic purposes. To the South and West of the city, the agricultural activity forced deforestation.
  • 11.  Baseball is the sport that has largest number of fans in the city approximately 60% of the people of the city calls amateur baseball, the home team are the Yaquis of Ciudad Obregon, which participate in the Mexican Pacific League.
